The present disclosure relates to a mobile terminal. The mobile terminal includes a touch sensor driver; a sensor configured to sense changes in movement and inclination in real time; a host system connected to the sensor and configured to transmit a pixel data of the input image to a display panel driver, and to receive a touch coordinate data from a touch sensor driver; and a luminance control device configured to control a luminance a first pixel region and a luminance of a second pixel region in the display panel. The luminance control device is configured to lower the luminance of the second pixel region responsive to detecting the touch input on the second pixel region or, responsive to the mobile terminal being rotated or inverted.

The display device includes a display panel in which a pixel array including at least a first pixel region and a second pixel region are disposed; a touch sensor disposed on the pixel array; a display panel driver configured to write pixel data of an input image to pixels in the first pixel region and the second pixel region; a touch sensor driver configured to drive the touch sensor and detect a touch input on the pixel array to generate touch coordinate data; and a luminance control device configured to lower the luminance of one of the first and second pixel regions in at least some gray scales when the touch input is detected on the pixel array.

Embodiments relate to a touch panel and a method of operating the touch panel. The touch panel includes first electrodes and second electrodes separated from and intersecting the first electrodes. The first electrodes are applied with a touch driving pulse during a first sensing mode and a second sensing mode. The second electrodes sense a first touch sense signal responsive to the touch driving pulse in the first sensing mode. A subset of the second electrodes senses a second touch sense signal responsive to the touch driving pulse in the second sensing mode.

The touch panel includes first electrodes and second electrodes intersecting the first electrodes. The touch panel further includes an elastic dielectric member disposed between the first electrodes and the second electrodes to separate the first electrodes and the second electrodes. The first electrodes are applied with a touch driving pulse during a sensing mode, and are applied with a voltage during a haptic mode. The second electrodes sense a touch sense signal responsive to the touch driving pulse in the sensing mode, and the second electrodes are applied with a reference voltage in the haptic mode. The elastic dielectric member vibrates in response to the voltage applied to the first electrodes in the haptic mode.
