Disclosed herein are an anti-obesity agent from natural products based on angiogenesis inhibitory actions, and an angiogenesis inhibitor or a composition for inhibiting obesity, containing at least one selected from the group consisting of Psoraleae Semen extract, Siegesbeckiae Herba extract, and Corni Fructus extract. Because the Psoraleae Semen extract, Siegesbeckiae Herba extract, and Corni Fructus extract of the present invention exhibit angiogenesis inhibitory effects and obesity inhibitory effects, they may be usefully used as an agent for prevention and treatment of angiogenesis-related diseases or obesity.

Anti-angiogenic agents and anti-obesity substances applied with anti-angiogenesis from natural products

A burst mode optical repeater is provided. The burst mode optical repeater receives optical signals, which are transmitted from a plurality of optical network units (ONUs) in a passive optical network (PON) to a central office using a time division multiplexing access (TDMA) method, and relays the received optical signals using an optical-electrical-optical (OEO) method. Since the burst mode optical repeater can be installed anywhere between an optical line terminal (OLT) and the ONUs, the number of subscribers and transmission range that can be supported by a corresponding network can be increased.

Provided are an optical output power control method that provides optical communication without harming the human body even when a transmission line is cut or no optical network unit (ONU) accesses a communication system, and a passive optical network (PON) system using the method. In the method, an optical signal having a predetermined period is transmitted when an optical communication system is in an abnormal state, wherein the predetermined period includes a laser-on time interval in which the optical signal has a normal power level and a laser-off time interval in which the optical signal is off or has a power level lower than the normal power level, so that the optical communication system performs optical communication without harming the human body even during the abnormal state.

Method of controlling optical output power and passive optical network system using the same

A system for monitoring an optical output/wavelength is employed to be used for a WDM system having a narrow channel space by structuring an etalon and photodiode as an integrated structure. The system includes: a laser source control unit for controlling the laser source; an optical/wavelength monitoring unit for monitoring an optical output/wavelength of the controlled laser source; a TEC control unit for controlling a TEC in order to constantly maintain the laser source of the optical output/wavelength monitoring unit to have a predetermined temperature; a temperature control unit for controlling a heater and a thermistor to set an etalon to a predetermined temperature, wherein the heater is attached on the optical output/wavelength monitoring unit and the thermistor is attached on the heater; a comparison unit for comparing the optical output signal and the wavelength signal, each of which is monitored by the optical output/wavelength monitoring unit; and a processing unit for comparing values of the compared signals with a preset value to control an input current or a temperature of the laser source.
