System, computer-readable medium and method are provided for organizing and rendering 3D voxel models in a tree data structure. The system includes a display, a memory loaded with 3D voxel data arranged in a N-tree data structure, and a processor that renders the 3D voxel data on the display. The N-tree data structure includes a top node, one or more levels of middle nodes, and leaf nodes. Each of the top node and middle nodes includes 64 occupancy bits and 32 index bits. The 64 occupancy bits indicate an occupied ('1') or empty ('0') state of each of 64 subunits (subcubes or voxels) included in the node. The 32 index bits represent a pointer to a memory location where its occupied subunits are stored. Each of the leaf nodes represents an occupied voxel, and includes an index number that can be used to point to a memory location of at least one type of attribute value (color, normal, intensity, etc.) of the occupied voxel.

System, method and computer-readable medium for organizing and rendering 3D voxel models in a tree structure

System, computer-readable medium and method are provided for differencing (diffing) first and second sets of 3D voxel data to identify differences that may exist between the two sets. The system includes a 64-bit processor, a memory, and a display. The memory is loaded with the two sets of 3D voxel data arranged in a 64-tree data structure, wherein an occupied or empty state of each voxel is indicated by 1 bit. The processor executes a 3D voxel diffing algorithm including steps of: (i) aligning the first and second sets of 3D voxel data; (ii) making a one-to-one comparison between each voxel in the first set and a corresponding voxel in the second set to create a diff model that records differences found between the first and second sets; and (iii) displaying the content of the diff model on the display.

System, computer-readable medium and method for 3D-differencing of 3D voxel models

A heater for a liquid has a combustion chamber, a jacket for the liquid extending about the combustion chamber and a burner head assembly connected to the combustion chamber. The burner head assembly includes a housing having a burner mounted thereon and a hollow interior. A control module and a fan are mounted in the hollow interior, the fan being connected to an electric motor. A compressor and a fuel pump are mounted on the housing and are operatively connected to the electric motor. The control module may include controls for exercising components of the heater prior to combustion, thereby verifying operation of these components. Preferably there is a speed control for the motor, such as a closed loop speed control which regulates motor speed and accordingly output of the heater. Preferably there is a backup system using a lookup table in the event that the closed loop speed control fails. Also preferably there is provision for monitoring flame sensor functionality by providing an indicator light which mirrors operation of the flame sensor. The heater may have a selective soft start for the coolant pump which operates only when required so as to reduce unnecessary chatter on the motor relay. A system is also provided for distinguishing true overcurrent faults from overcurrents arising from voltage changes during starting of the vehicle engine. Reignition algorithms are provided to restart the burner in the event of flame sputters caused, for example, by fuel bubbles, but shut off the heater in the event that the fuel is truly cut off.

A method is provided for rendering 3D voxel data including plural voxel sets, while eliminating artifacts that may result from the plural voxel sets colliding with each other ('voxel interpenetration'). In one aspect, the method involves an extension of the splatting approach, and uses a z-buffer associated with each pixel to indicate the z-depth of a voxel to be painted onto the pixel. According to the method, first, the z-buffer for each pixel is reset (cleared). Next, for each of the plural voxel sets, one voxel set at a time (sequentially), voxels within the voxel set are traversed until an occupied voxel is found. If a z value of the occupied voxel is less than a z value stored in the z-buffer, the z value of the occupied voxel is stored in the z-buffer and the occupied voxel is painted onto an associated pixel. Then, the next occupied voxel is considered.

Method and system for rendering voxel data while addressing multiple voxel set interpenetration

A method and apparatus are provided for maintaining a temperature between a first value and a second value. The method and apparatus utilize a heat transfer device capable of cycling through a series of cycles, the device being capable of changing the temperature from the second value to the first value when operational. During each cycle the device transfers heat for a first period of time when the temperature reaches the second volume until the first value is reached and thereafter the device stops transferring heat. The first period of time is compared to a desired cycle-on period of time during each cycle and the second temperature value then is adjusted for a subsequent cycle of the device so the first period of time when the device transfers heat approaches the desired cycle-on period of time. There may also be provided temperature controls for a liquid heater having a jacket containing the liquid. The jacket has an inner heated wall and an outer wall spaced apart from the inner wall. The controls include a temperature sensor capable of fitting to the jacket so that the sensor contacts the inner wall and the liquid. A control module monitors temperature sensed by the temperature sensor. The control module causes the heater to stop heating when the temperature is heated by the heater to a first value and causes the heater to heat when the liquid cools to a second value lower than the first value. The control module senses overheating when temperature sensed by the sensor increases to a third value, higher than the first value, when the heater is not heating, and then causes the heater to shut down.

Temperature maintaining apparatus and temperature control apparatus and method therefor

A burner head assembly for a burner includes a housing having a hollow interior and an exterior. There is a control module within the hollow interior. The module has internal connectors within the hollow interior and external connectors on the exterior of the housing, whereby electrical connections to the module can be made internally and externally with respect to the housing without requiring apertures in the housing and wiring extending through the apertures. For example, the control module may include a circuit board, the circuit board having a portion within the hollow interior and which extends to the exterior. The exterior and interior connectors are connected to the circuit board. The housing may have two portions, the control module being fitted between the two portions of the housing. Preferably the control module is sealingly received between the two portions of the housing.

A method and apparatus are provided for transforming 3D geometric data, such as polygon data () formed of polygons (), into volumetric data () formed of voxels (). According to the method, 3D geometric data to be converted to voxel data are acquired, and the resolution of a final voxel grid to be produced is obtained (e.g., user-defined). Then, each geometric unit (e.g., a polygon) in the 3D geometric data is mapped (or scan converted) to an imaginary voxel grid having a higher resolution than the resolution of the final voxel grid. Next, with respect to the geometric units that are mapped to the imaginary voxels in the imaginary voxel grid dividing one final (actual) voxel into smaller sub-volumes, a weighted average of the attribute values (color, normal, intensity, etc.) is obtained. The weighted average is stored as the attribute value of the final voxel.

Method and apparatus for transforming polygon data to voxel data for general purpose applications

A stove apparatus includes a frame having an interior opening. A burner is mounted within the opening. A liquid fuel container is mounted on the frame within the opening. A fuel conduit extends between the container and the burner. A heat shield extends about the burner and separates the burner from the fuel container. Preferably the apparatus has a manually operable device which simultaneously regulates a valve controlling a flow of fuel from the fuel container to the burner and a control device controlling the output of a compressor supplying compressed air to the burner. The compressor may have a suction port. The apparatus then includes a suction conduit connecting the suction port to the fuel container, whereby the compressor can selectively draw fuel into the container. The fuel container may have a vent body mounted thereon. The suction conduit is connected to the vent body. The body has a valve for preventing fuel from entering the conduit from the container. The valve may include a chamber with a valve seat at the top of the chamber. A check valve ball, buoyant in the fuel, is movably mounted in the chamber. If fuel is drawn into the chamber, the check valve ball floats to the top of the chamber and blocks the fuel from entering the suction conduit.

Liquid fuel stove apparatus

A fuel delivery apparatus for an auxiliary vehicle heater includes a burner with a fuel nozzle. A fuel pump has an intake port and a discharge port. There is a first fuel conduit connected to the intake port. A second fuel conduit connects the discharge port to the nozzle. A third fuel conduit extends between the discharge port and the intake port. A pressure release relief valve is operatively disposed along the third conduit. Fuel from the discharge port is recirculated back to the intake port when pressure of fuel supplied to the nozzle through the second conduit exceeds a preset amount. Preferably the fuel nozzle is an air aspirated fuel nozzle and the fuel pump is a gear pump. The third conduit may be internal to the fuel pump.

A fuel tank fitting for withdrawing fuel through a fuel sensor aperture in a fuel tank. The fitting includes an annular member having a plurality of spaced-apart fastener apertures. A fuel line has a first portion extending generally radially through the annular member to its central aperture. The fuel line has a second portion connected to the first portion and extending perpendicularly away from the bottom of the annular member.
