Apparatus for noise reduction in valves are disclosed herein. An example valve disclosed herein includes a valve body defining a fluid passageway between an inlet and an outlet, a plug, and a cage in the fluid passageway. The plug is disposed in the cage. The plug is moveable in the cage to control fluid flow through the fluid passageway. The cage includes an inner wall having first openings, an outer wall having second openings, the outer wall disposed coaxially around the inner wall, and an insert having third openings. The insert is disposed between the inner wall and the outer wall.

Apparatus for noise reduction in valves

Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed for a valve plug apparatus for use with control valves. An example valve plug apparatus disclosed herein an upper plug segment, a middle plug segment, and a lower plug segment, the middle plug segment positioned between the upper plug segment and the lower plug segment, the upper plug segment, the middle plug segment and the lower plug segment defining an overall length of the valve plug, the middle plug segment removably coupled to the upper plug segment and the lower plug segment.

Valve plug apparatus for use with control valves

Valve trim apparatus having multiple fluid flow control members are disclosed herein. An example valve trim apparatus includes a primary valve seat and a first flow control member having a cavity and a first seating surface. The first flow control member is movable relative to the primary valve seat to control fluid flow between an inlet and an outlet of the fluid valve. A second flow control member is disposed within the cavity. The second flow control member is slidably coupled relative to the first flow control member. A secondary valve seat is coupled to the first flow control member. The second flow control member is to move relative to the secondary valve seat to throttle a fluid flow across the secondary valve seat.

Valve trim apparatus having multiple fluid flow control members

A valve plug assembly includes a valve plug base, a valve plug tip, and a clamp that removably couples the valve plug tip to the valve plug base. The valve plug base includes a base body portion arranged for attachment to the valve stem and a base mating portion coupled to the base body portion. The valve plug tip has a tip body portion and a tip mating portion coupled to the tip body portion, the tip body portion having a sealing surface arranged to sealingly engage the valve seat. The clamp includes a clamp bore sized to receive at least a portion of the base mating portion and at least a portion of the tip mating portion.

Valve trim apparatus having multiple fluid flow control members are disclosed herein. An example valve trim apparatus includes a primary valve seat and a first flow control member having a cavity and a first seating surface, where the first flow control member is movable relative to the primary valve seat. A second flow control member is disposed within the cavity and slidably coupled relative to the first flow control member. A secondary valve seat is coupled to the first flow control member and the second flow control member moves relative to the secondary valve seat to throttle a fluid flow across the secondary valve seat.

A process control valve comprises a valve body having an inlet and an outlet and a plug. The plug selectively restricts fluid communication between the inlet and the outlet. The plug can have a plug body and a plurality of fins extending radially outward from the plug body between a first end of the plug and a second end of the plug. Each one of the plurality of fins can have a tapered section proximate the second end of the plug. The tapered section can taper radially inward toward the second end of the plug.

Process control valve and plug

A thermally compensated valve trim component for a fluid flow control device is provided. The valve trim component includes a base and a sleeve coupled to the base. The base is formed of a first material having a first thermal expansion coefficient, while the sleeve is formed of a second material having a second thermal expansion coefficient different from the first thermal expansion coefficient. The valve trim component further includes a thermal compensating apparatus arranged within a gland defined between the base and the sleeve. The thermal compensating apparatus is formed of a third material having a third thermal expansion coefficient different from the first and second thermal expansion coefficients, such that the thermal compensating apparatus minimizes a resultant thermal expansion differential of the valve trim component.

A fluid pressure reduction device is provided. The fluid pressure reduction device includes a body and a diffuser. The body defines an inlet, an outlet, and a fluid passageway extending between the inlet and the outlet. The body is made of a first material having a first hardness. A seating area is defined within the body. The diffuser is removably coupled to the seating area and disposed within the fluid passageway of the body. The diffuser defines at least one flowpath for reducing a pressure of a fluid flowing through the fluid passageway. The diffuser includes a second material having a second hardness greater than the first hardness of the first material.

Erosion-resistant fluid pressure reduction device

Thermally compensated valve trim apparatus are disclosed. An example valve trim apparatus includes a valve plug having a recess, an insert fixed in the recess and having an opening therein. The insert is made of a material having a greater strength than a second material of the valve plug. The example valve trim apparatus also includes a valve stem having a threaded end disposed in the opening of the insert to form a valve stem connection, and a spacer operatively coupled to the valve plug and vale stem to affect a load exerted on the valve stem connection in response to a change in temperature.
