Systems and methods for in-person live action gaming

A variety of active units that sense environmental variables and take various actions are described. In one embodiment, an active unit includes at least one sensor to detect a change in an environmental variable and generate a sensor signal and an action module configured to influence the environmental. The active unit may also include a communication module and a processor module configured to accept the sensor signal and determine if the environmental variable exceeds a threshold and to instruct the action module not to take action to influence the environmental variable, and instruct the communication module to transmit a signal to other active units that the environmental variable has exceeded the threshold.

Environment sensing active units

A controller is configured to control power flow through the input power converters on a per-converter basis so that separate converters are separately controlled. One or more output power converters are configured to convert stored DC power to output power for use by one or more loads. The controller is configured to control power flow through the one or more output power converters. One or more output connectors are configured to transfer the output power to the one or more loads.

In one example, an electrical circuit includes a first functional block with an electrical load to produce an external result, a second functional block with a voltage isolator; a third functional block with a current controller. The first, second, and third functional blocks are connected such that the external result of the electrical load is determined by the current controller acting through the voltage isolator. The voltage isolator may be configured to limit a maximum voltage across the current controller.
