An eyewear device that accurately and dynamically adjusts color and brightness of a see-through display as a function of a user's eye gaze direction and eye position using a display characteristic map. The display characteristic map is indicative of display characteristics of the see-through display. Color masks are generated as a function of the display characteristic map and the user's eye gaze direction and eye position, and a processor adjusts the see-through display characteristics based on the color masks.

The remote control additionally includes memory that stores controller layout configurations for display in the display area of the display by the display driver. A processor in the context-sensitive remote control is configured to establish, via the transceiver, communication with an electronic device, detect an activity currently being performed by the electronic device, select one of the controller layout configurations responsive to the detected activity, and present, via the display driver, the selected controller layout configuration in the display area of the display.

An eyewear device including an eye tracker to track a user's eye. The eyewear includes a see-through display for creating an image. The eyewear includes a light source generating a collimated light beam, and the display includes a powered optical element that receives and reflects the light beam. The powered optical element spreads the light beam to uniformly illuminate a user's eye. The powered optical element may include a holographic element.

A system embodiment includes, but is not limited to, a processor; a vehicle data source; a traffic control device monitor; a traffic control device location source; an update distribution system; at least one traffic control device communicatively coupled with the update distribution system; and a device notification system, wherein the processor is configured to analyze data received from at least one of the vehicle data source, the traffic control device monitor, and the traffic control device location source and determine whether the at least one traffic control device can switch to an updated traffic control device component from the update distribution system without impacting traffic flow of vehicles past the least one traffic control device.
