The embodiments described herein can provide diverse sensor capability and future expansion needs for luminaire mounted sensing systems and for processing sensor signals.

For example, various embodiments presented herein describe signal processing means to utilize stereo/multiple microphones in a luminaire (such as an outdoor roadway luminaire) to provide enhanced information regarding the surroundings of the luminaire. The multiple microphone luminaire sensor processing system can provide a more environmentally robust and sensitive approach which can be, for example, resistant to environmental noise such as a wind noise, as well as capable of isolating specific sounds from the surroundings, e.g., in specific directions.

A roadway fixture system includes a lighting fixture having an outer housing that holds one or more light devices. The outer housing includes an access door through which an interior of the lighting fixture is accessible. The system also includes a radio frequency (RF) transceiver configured to send and receive cellular communications. The RF transceiver includes a mounting plate that is sized and shaped to fit into a space occupied by the access door of the outer housing of the lighting fixture so that the RF transceiver is mounted to the lighting fixture.

The specification and drawings present a light fixture for an imaging camera, where a protective window size requirements for camera imaging in a wide field of view (WFOV) are minimized using directional imaging through the protective window. This can be accomplished by a camera position adjustment according to a predefined algorithm as described herein. This adjustment may be performed using a mechanical motor or manually (using corresponding screws, lever, etc.) to actuate a mechanical mechanism. For example, a four-bar linkage mechanism may be used, which may allow the camera to pivot about a virtual pivot point (or generally, a pivotal area) generated by the intersection of the camera lens bore sight axes (camera lens central axes), e.g., outside of a housing of the light fixture.
