Techniques are disclosed for integration, provisioning and management of entities and processes in a computing system such as, by way of example only, business entities and business processes. In particular, techniques are disclosed for implementing an extensible support system for multiple service offerings. For example, such a support system can be a business support system which may be employed in conjunction with a cloud computing environment.

Extensible support system for service offerings

Techniques are disclosed for integration, provisioning and management of entities and processes in a computing system such as, by way of example only, business entities and business processes. In particular, techniques are disclosed for ontology based resource provisioning and management for services. For example, such an ontology based approach can be utilized in conjunction with a business support system which may be employed in conjunction with a cloud computing environment.

Ontology based resource provisioning and management for services

A telemetry data acquisition management system includes a system processor and an interface engine, controlled by the system processor, for interfacing with sensor bearing systems, to receive telemetry data from the sensor bearing systems, and distribute the data to a plurality data processing systems or applications operational for processing telemetry data according to each sensor bearing systems' protocol. The system processor enables the plurality of multiple data processing systems or applications to specify telemetry requests including 'fuzzy' timeliness protocol, generates a charging structure such that the sensor bearing systems are charge by usage commensurate with system load.

Techniques for generating a composite spatial representation are presented. For example, a method includes obtaining a plurality of source spatial representations from a plurality of source applications, and forming the composite spatial representation by combining the plurality of source spatial representations. The composite spatial representation is operative to interact with at least one behavioral element that is separate from the composite spatial representation. The obtaining of the plurality of source spatial representations and the forming of the composite spatial representation are executed on a computing system comprising a processor and a memory. One or more computer program instructions for implementing the obtaining of the plurality of source spatial representations and the forming of the composite spatial representation are obtained from the memory and executed by the processor device.

Generation of composite spatial representations

It is determined whether a location of a mobile device is within a coverage region of a first information service. Communications for the first information service are redirected to a second information service when the location of the mobile device is not within a coverage region of the first information service. The second information service generally has a coverage region encompassing the location of the mobile device. Communications between the mobile device and the first information service are redirected to a new information service when properties of the new information service are determined to meet predetermined criteria set by a user of the mobile device, by an application, or both. In yet another aspect of the invention, replacement of information services can be 'aggressive' or 'non-aggressive.' Communications between the mobile device and an original information service are redirected to another information service when the original information service fails.

Dynamic service binding providing transparent switching of information services having defined coverage regions

Systems and techniques for managing software licensing are described. When a computing system service request is made, the request is intercepted and software information that may be more or less continuously updated in a managed computing environment is examined to determine the effect of the service request on software usage by the system. The software usage represented by the service request is evaluated based on licensing information to determine license usage by the system and changes in license usage based on the service request, and license usage information is determined based on the software usage and the licensing information. The license usage information may be used in connection with a system of rules to govern actions such as reporting licensing usage or allowing or preventing the use of software based on whether use of the software will violate licensing requirements.

Methods and apparatus for software license management

A method of providing support services as a service is presented. For example, the method includes providing to a service provider one or more service modules operative to provide the support services to the service provider. The one or more service modules are provided by one or more suppliers of the support services and include instruction code operative to be performed on a processor device and one or more application programming interfaces operative for programmatic access to the one or more service module. The service modules may further include one or more user interfaces operative for interactive access to a respective service module. The one or more service modules may include, for example, one or more of a profile service module, an offering service module, a customer service module, a process service module, a user interface service module and a revenue service module.

Provision of support services as a service

A method for service creation based on graph mapping including constructing a graph having leaf nodes in an environment including business support nodes associated with respective services and operations support nodes including attribute models, identifying a plurality of services at a level of the leafs in the graph, extending the graph by representing existing services offerings in terms of operation level service definitions and new services at the level of the leafs, and re-combining leaf nodes to define new services at service creation time.

Techniques for structure-aware caching are provided. The techniques include decomposing a response from an origin server into one or more independently addressable objects, using a domain specific language to navigate the response to identify the one or more addressable objects and create one or more access paths to the one or more objects, and selecting a route to an object by navigating an internal structure of a cached object to discover one or more additional independently addressable objects.
