A faucet assembly includes a base for mounting adjacent a basin of a sink and a spout projecting upward and outward away from the base and terminating at a water outlet. A light emitter is mounted to one section of the spout and emits a beam of light directed toward another section of the spout, wherein the beam of light does not intersect a region beneath the outlet. A light sensor, mounted to the spout, produces a signal indicating whether the beam of light is striking the light sensor. A control circuit responds to the signal by opening a valve that thereby conveys water to the spout.

Touchless faucet assembly and method of operation

A faucet includes a spout, a proximity detector, a first valve, and a control circuit. The proximity detector is mounted on or in the spout. The proximity detector includes a light emitter and a sensor. The light emitter is configured to emit a beam of light. The sensor is configured to produce a signal in response to sensing the beam reflected by an object in a zone of detection. The first valve is configured to control a first flow of fluid to the spout. The control circuit is operatively coupled the first valve and the proximity detector. The control circuit is configured to receive the signal and cause the first valve to control the first flow of fluid through the spout after receiving the signal.

A cable tie application tool is described that includes an electro-mechanical tensioning system. When the electro-mechanical tensioning system is controlled by a processor to tighten a cable, a reactionary force through a drive nut that is pivotally mounted to a tension bar can be monitored and measured by a strain gauge, a load cell, or other sensing system. This reactionary force is an indication of tension on the cable tie and is monitored by the processor until the tension reaches a predetermined tension, at which point, the processor causes a motor in the tensioning system to stop increasing the tension on the cable tie. The processor activates a cut-off system to cut the cable tie that has been tightened to the predetermined tension.

Cable tie application tool

A faucet that includes a spout, a spray head, a light emitter, a light sensor, and a control circuit. The spout has a base, which extends upward from a first end to a second end, and an arched portion, which curves upward and outward from the second end, then downward and outward to a distal end. The spray head is detachably mounted to the distal end. The light emitter is positioned proximate the distal end and is configured to emit a light beam back toward the spout. The light sensor is mounted on or in the spout and is configured to sense the light beam reflected by an object in a zone of detection. The control circuit controls a flow of water to the spray head in response to the light sensor sensing the light beam reflected by the object in the zone of detection.

A faucet for discharging water, comprising a spout configured to receive and discharge a supply of water; a light emitter mounted on the spout and configured to emit a light beam; a light sensor mounted on the spout and configured to receive the light beam and detect an interruption of the light beam; a control circuit configured to control the flow of water through the faucet based on the interruption of the light beam; and a touchpad for controlling at least one of a flow rate and a temperature of the water discharged from the spout.

Food preparation sinks are disclosed which have an integral raised work area that is rinsed by an automatic system. Food waste or the like present in that area can be washed into a sump above a drain, and the weight of the waste and water in the sump is enough to automatically drive them through a baffle to a garbage disposal, without requiring the baffle to be manually opened. An automatic controller system coordinates water flow and garbage disposal operation, and the water supply can be linked to the sink below the sink rim to save counter top space. In some forms multiple rinsing nozzles are provided which pulse in altering fashion.

Food preparation sink

Food preparation sinks are disclosed which have an integral raised work area that is rinsed by an automatic system.
