A multi-sensor edge computing system can have at least a sensor assembly connected to an edge computing device and a downstream host. The sensor assembly may have a first sensor and a second sensor with the respective sensors being different. The edge computing device can be configured to identify a false reading of the first sensor in response to data captured by the second sensor.

Multi-sensor edge computing system

Aspects of the disclosure are directed to apparatuses and methods involving particulate sampling. As may be consistent with one or more embodiments, an apparatus includes a flow direction structure, a flow sampler and a particle collector having a collecting surface. The flow direction structure has interior sidewalls that direct the flow of particulate-laden gas along a flow path. The flow sampler is located in the flow path within the interior sidewalls, and operates with the flow direction structure to sample a portion of the particulate-laden gas at a reduced velocity, while allowing another portion of the particulate-laden gas to exhaust around the flow sampler. The flow sampler operates with the particle collector to direct the sampled portion of the particulate-laden gas to the collecting surface, and to adhere particulates from the particulate-laden gas to the collecting surface.

Particle collector

A process for assembling data storage components in which a cylindrically shaped first structure of a data storage device is inserted into an aperture of a second structure, the first structure having a circumferentially extending outer surface and the aperture of the second structure having an aperture sidewall. An annular gap is formed between the outer surface of the first structure and the inner sidewall of the aperture of the second structure, and a plurality of discrete dots of adhesive are placed to span the annular gap following which the adhesive is cured by exposing the adhesive to ultraviolet radiation to attaches the first and second structures into a sub-assembly.

Assembly of data storage components

Apparatus for merging a disc drive head disc assembly (HSA) with a disc stack. The HSA comprises a flexure which supports a data transducing head and the disc stack comprises a disc having a data storage surface. A merge assembly includes a shipping comb attached to the HSA, the shipping comb having a first alignment member and a first flexure support member. The merge assembly further includes a merge comb having a second alignment member and a second flexure support member. The merge comb is advanced by a robotic arm to a position where the second alignment member engages the first alignment member. This aligns the shipping comb with the merge comb and allows transfer of support of the flexure to the second flexure support member at an elevation suitable to subsequently pass the head in a safe, clearing relationship over the data storage surface.

Merging a head stack assembly with a data storage medium

An air current diverting apparatus for a data storage device having a rotating data storage medium in operable relation with an actuator assembly reading data from and writing data to the data storage medium. The air current diverting apparatus has an aerodynamic shroud comprising a base having a first end attachable to the actuator assembly, an upstream surface extending upstream of the actuator assembly, and a downstream surface extending downstream of the actuator assembly and substantially non-parallel to the upstream surface.
