A misaligned belt sensing apparatus determines when a conveyor belt becomes misaligned, indicating repair or replacement are required. At least one sensing apparatus is placed nearly in contact with the belt which produces heat due to friction between the belt and the apparatus when it comes in contact with same due to misalignment. The sensed temperature is compared to threshold values and indicates when the conveyor belt has become misaligned, as well as determining operational wear status of the sensing apparatus after a number of such misalignments. Each heat sensing apparatus comprises at least one thermally conductive plate where a moving misaligned belt rubs against the thermally conductive plate and generates heat due to friction between the moving belt and the thermally conductive plate, where each plate has one or more independent temperature sensing elements for misalignment detection and indication, also detecting wear status of the plates of the apparatus.

A sensor arrangement and method for an inductively rotational sensor consisting of a remote clone coil connected to a processor. The clone coil is located between a proximity sensor including a sensor and a rotating target so that when in an input or interrogatory mode rotational speed of the targets on a rotatable body is detected by the clone coil as a base rotational speed. The processor and the clone coil in an injection or output mode presenting emulating pulses to the sensor to mask the normal sensor coil to target interaction so the sensor coil sees the emulating pulses as the indicator of rotational speed. The emulating pulses proportional to the base speed and adjustable to desired levels of variation from the base speed as a reference.

Sensor arrangement to determine rotational speeds

The attachment device includes a base plate which is magnetically engaged to an end of a rotating shaft, the plate having a centered collar which is coaxial with the axis of the shaft and is configured to engage a rotatable spindle of a sensor mount to the shaft, with the spindle being rotated by rotation of the shaft.

The force sensing switch comprising a housing and a movable member movable relative to the housing upon having a predetermined force applied thereagainst by an adjacent moving structure when the structure becomes misaligned, the movable member engaging circuitry within the housing which will produce an alarm signal and will stop the adjacent structure from moving.
