A radar system () for a vehicle (), comprising a plurality of radar transceivers () and a control unit (). Each radar transceiver () is associated with a main pointing direction (P, P, P, P) and a certain frequency sub-band (A, B, C, D), where the sub-bands (A, B, C, D) together form a certain dedicated frequency band. The control unit () is adapted to define heading intervals which divide a full turn interval 0°-360° into sections, assign a corresponding sub-band (A, B, C, D) to each heading interval, determine a present vehicle heading (F), and to assign a corresponding sub-band (A, B, C, D) to each one of the radar transceivers () in dependence of the heading interval that includes the present vehicle heading (F).

A radar system () for a vehicle (), comprising a control unit () and a radar transceiver arrangement () with at least one ego radar transceiver (), where, for the at least one ego radar transceiver (), the control unit () is adapted to: determine a present direction (D, D) of the ego radar transceiver (), determine a reserved frequency band (B) corresponding to the present direction (D, D), and to determine a first extended frequency band (B) comprising and extending beyond the reserved frequency band (B), wherein the control unit is further adapted to: detect presence of an interfering radar transceiver in the first extended frequency band, and operating the ego radar transceiver () in the first extended frequency band (B) in case an interfering radar transceiver is not detected in the first extended frequency band and operating the ego radar transceiver () in the reserved frequency band (B) otherwise.

Radar system for interference avoidance based on vehicle heading

A radar transceiver () including a transmit branch (, TX) arranged to transmit a radar signal at a frequency F(t), and a receive branch (RX,) arranged to receive a radar signal, wherein the receive branch comprises an interference monitoring circuit () configured to monitor frequencies adjacent to the frequency F(t) for interference, and to generate a control signal () if interference is detected at the adjacent frequencies, wherein the transmit branch is arranged to be paused in response to the control signal ().

Discontinuous radar transmission for interference mitigation

A side-shield () for a radar transceiver (), the side-shield () including a non-uniform delay structure arranged over an extension plane of the side-shield, the non-uniform delay structure being configured to delay a radar signal () propagating through the side-shield () by a variable amount in dependence of a wavelength of the radar signal and in dependence of a location on the extension plane, thereby steering and/or diffusing the radar signal () after propagation through the side-shield ().
