The present disclosure relates generally to systems and methods for creating a mixed reality environment. A mixed reality system includes a performance area for generating a mixed reality environment, a motion determination module that determines and tracks the motion of an object within the performance area, a physical article module that generates a physical article within the performance area, and a mixed reality display that displays a virtual article within the performance area, wherein the physical article and the virtual article are correlated to the motion of the object.

Real-time projection in a mixed reality environment

A system for use in a park attraction to provide collaborative driving experiences. The system includes a vehicle including a body with passenger seats, including a user input assembly proximate to each of the passenger seats, and further including a holonomic drive system adapted to move the body in any direction while riding on a driving surface of the park attraction. The system also includes a system controller (running an attraction/game control module) that operates to: (a) receive user input from each of the user input assemblies; (b) process the user input from each of the user input assemblies to generate a control vector associated with each of the user input assemblies; (c) combine the control vectors from all of the user input assemblies to generate a resultant vector; (d) generate a drive control signal from the resultant vector; and (e) transmit the drive control signal to the vehicle.

Park attraction with collaborative passenger control of holonomic vehicles

There are provided systems and methods for synchronizing effects for multi-user mixed reality experiences. In one implementation, such a system includes a computing platform having a hardware processor and a system memory storing a software code. The hardware processor executes the software code to receive sensor data from multiple sensors within a venue, identify an activity in the venue based on the sensor data, and track a respective perspective and a respective location within the venue of each of multiple observers of the activity. The hardware processor also executes the software code to identify a first effect triggered by an action of one of the observers, conform the first effect to the respective perspective and the respective location of each of the observers to produce multiple second effects corresponding to the first effect, and output the second effects for operating multiple actuating devices within the venue during the activity.

Synchronized effects for multi-user mixed reality experiences

A musical game system and associated methods configured to allow for unguided, free-form group-based musical expressivity during generation of a collaborative digital music track (or 'song'). The musical game system is designed to provide a hardware and software pipeline that functions to record, quantize, and loop multiple (e.g., 1 to 15 or more) users' inputs (e.g., via a piezoelectric MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) controllers or triggered instruments or other user input devices) in a dynamic playback space. The musical game system further functions to provide volume attenuation and localization of playback to enable participants to express themselves with their user inputs with complete agency while simultaneously adding to an overarching, collaborative musical composition generated using their user inputs and other participants' user inputs. The collaborative musical composition is created by the system so as to maintain coherence and tonality regardless of the user inputs the system receives and processes.
