An integrated electrical power supply and control system and method are provided. Such a system and method utilize energy storage, memory and a processor to provide controlled direct current (DC) energy suitable for operating narrowband semiconductor irradiation arrays according to appropriate pulse width modulation patterns to achieve cooking/heating of comestibles.

An improved inside of can curing technology is provided. One implementation uses narrowband, semiconductor produced infrared energy which is focused into the inside of the can to affect a very high-speed curing result and will directly impact the coating covering the inside walls of the can to rapidly cure the coating. De-tempering and annealing of the aluminum can body does not have time to occur, thus leaving a stronger can with the same amount of aluminum or a can of the same strength but with less aluminum. It is also possible to eliminate the natural gas fueled oven that is the current standard and replace it with a completely hydrocarbon-free curing alternative that has superior performance. This high powered radiant, narrowband energy will be digitally controlled to introduce only the needed heat and to not overheat the can.

System and method for inside of can curing

A system is provided using targeted narrowband radiation emitting devices or arrays of devices that offers a solution to the difficulties surrounding heated product dispensing. Rather than maintaining an entire reservoir of product at a raised temperature, much smaller volumes (single portions or small multiples thereof) can be held ready and at temperature to be dispensed without wasting additional energy on keeping a large volume of product warm. This is achieved by leveraging the unique, targeted nature of these devices to quickly and accurately heat a small amount of product separated out from the main reservoir and held ready for dispensing.

This application is related to a method and construction technology for the implementation of narrowband, digital heat injection technology. More specifically, it relates to techniques for implementations thereof producing engineered irradiation patterns.

System and method for producing an engineered irradiation pattern in a narrowband system

A way of using narrowband irradiation to de-ice or release ice from a surface is provided. The methodology can be applied to a range of different types of de-icing from windshield de-icing to aircraft wing de-icing to releasing ice from the ice tray of an ice making machine. While there are many different specific applications, the concept and methodologies taught remain similar across all of them.

A methodology and product or system configurations are provided which allow food to be directly irradiated for cooking applications which involve the impingement of direct radiant energy on food or comestible items. A system for direct injection of selected thermal-infrared (IR) wavelength radiation or energy into food items for a wide range of processing purposes is provided. These purposes may include heating, raising or maintaining the temperature of the food articles. The system is especially applicable to operations that require or benefit from the ability to irradiate at specifically selected wavelengths or to pulse or inject the radiation. The system is particularly advantageous when functioning at higher speeds and in a non-contact environment with the target.

Method and system for digital narrowband, wavelength specific cooking, curing, food preparation, and processing

A method and system are provided for digitally injecting heat into a wide range of products by way of incorporation of a special class of semi-conductor lasers, e.g. surface emitting devices. This technique relates to a more specific, economical, and advantageous way of practicing the art of directly injecting narrowband radiant energy that desirously matches the absorption specification of a particular material at a specified wavelength.

A machine () for mixing food in a cup (C) includes a housing having an agitator assembly () extending downwardly therefrom and adapted to be rotated by a motor to mix food in the cup (C). A switch assembly () is provided to operate the agitator assembly (). The switch assembly () includes a bracket () which pivotally carries a plate () which extends downwardly adjacent to the agitator assembly (). A switch () is carried by the bracket () and has an arm () biased toward the plate (). The plate () is biased toward the arm () by springs () to maintain the switch () in the open position. Pivoting the plate () relative to the bracket () against the bias of the springs () allows the arm () of the switch () to pivot to close the switch () allowing the agitator assembly () to rotate. Releasing the plate () allows the springs () to bias the plate () against the arm () but a pad () silences any noise created thereby, and a wall () of the bracket () stops the plate () from exerting undue pressure on the arm ().

A system () for attaching a cover () to a container () and for closing an opening () in the cover () with a plug () utilizes a container () having an upper lip (). The cover () is made of an elastomeric material and has handles () each having a notch () therein to receive the lip () of the container (). A ridge () depends from the periphery of the opening () in the cover (). The ridge () is generally square having sides () and corners (). The ridge () includes a notch () formed in each side (), and ribs () are positioned at each side of the notches (). The plug () has a generally cylindrical stem () whose diameter approximates the length of a side () of the ridge (). Diametrically opposed tabs () are positioned on the stem (). By aligning the tabs () with the corners () of the ridge (), the stem () can pass through the opening (). Then rotating the plug () allows the tabs () to pass over the ribs () and into opposed notches ().

A drink making machine () includes an ice shaving and dispensing unit () which provides a predetermined amount of ice, by weight, through a chute () to the pitcher () of a blending unit (). A nozzle () is carried by the chute () and provides water through a nozzle opening () until a predetermined amount of water, by weight, is received by the pitcher (). The water from the opening () is not allowed to directly impinge against the bottom of the pitcher (). The water from the opening () is not allowed to directly impinge against the bottom of the pitcher () so that it does not adversely affect the weight measurements being taken.
