A modular storage and support assembly uses a platform system that includes vertically disposed support posts. The support post has an extended tubular body and a plurality of symmetrically spaced, radially extending flanges running the length of the tubular body. Each flange has a first portion extending radially from the post and a second portion at the terminal end of the first portion. A slot is defined between each pair of adjacent flanges for receiving vertical panels or other inserts.

A modular shelving system includes active and fixed storage levels. The storage levels are removably supported from support posts and are disposed at intermediate positions between a top shelf assembly and a base shelf assembly. Each active storage level is secured to a pair of slide assemblies allowing such to be displaced from the shelving system to provide convenient access to items stored thereon. The support posts may be in the form of cylinders having an array of vertical slots for receiving mounting hardware for supporting shelves. Alternatively, support posts having longitudinal slots formed therein in combination with slotted-post inserts may be used to support the shelves. An anti-tip leg assembly can optionally be employed to provide increased stability.

A medication cart features a frame assembly formed from a plurality of vertical support posts and wall panels secured to the posts. Each support post has a plurality of equally-spaced, radially extending flanges running the longitudinal length of the post. The medication cart contains, in addition to an array of drawers and bins, a multi-level cassette assembly. An internal locking mechanism secures the cassette assembly when it is positioned in the medication cart, and an external locking mechanism secures the cassette assembly outside of the medication cart.

A bin for granular substance is disclosed comprising a receptacle (4) having an inwardly rolled top rim flange (14). The rim flange in turn defines an integral registration detent region (B). Rearward and forward lid components (38, 42) are mounted over the receptacle opening with the rearward lid component having a depending J-shaped appendages (30), which are located to extend below the below the receptacle of downturned rim flange (16). The forward lid component (38) is adapted having elements (52, 56) for sliding and pivotal engagement with the rearward lid component, whereby the forward lid component can be slidably repositioned along the rearward lid component, and at any position therealong, pivot upward to expose the receptacle top opening.
