A video may be captured by an image capture device in motion. A horizon-leveled view of the video may be generated by providing a punchout of the video. The punchout of the video may compensate for rotation of the image capture device during capture of the video. The placement of the punchout of the video may be changed based on different rotational positions of to provide a view in which a horizon depicted within the video is leveled.

Systems and methods for horizon leveling videos

Multiple punchouts of a video may be presented based on multiple viewing windows. The video may include visual content having a field of view. Multiple viewing windows may be determined for the video, with individual viewing window defining a set of extents of the visual content. Different punchouts of the visual content may be presented based on the different viewing windows. Individual punchout of the visual content may include the set of extents of the visual content defined by corresponding viewing window.

Systems and methods for providing punchouts of videos

After a command to stop recording a video is received, an image capture device may buffer footage in a buffer memory. The buffer memory may be used as a post-capture cache. The footage buffered in the buffer memory may be appended to the end of previously captured footage, appended to the beginning of subsequently captured footage, and/or used to bridge two separately captured footage.

An integrated mobile device enclosure which encloses a mobile device includes features configured to enhance the capturing and/or processing of content at the mobile device. An integrated mobile device enclosure may include a body configured to enclose at least a portion of a mobile device, one or more microphones configured to capture sound external to the mobile device, and one or more lights configured to support a camera of the mobile device. The one or more microphones and the one or more lights are used with a software application running on the mobile device for content capture and/or processing. The software application in at least some cases may selectively enable or disable ones of the microphones and/or lights based on environmental information measured within a location of the mobile device.

An image capture system and methods for auto-recording media data are herein disclosed. A method includes selecting an activity-specific monitor based on an activity type. The activity-specific monitor defines one or more auto-recording conditions that, when satisfied, cause the image capture system to record data. The auto-recording conditions are based on an audio profile, a video profile, a motion profile, or any combination thereof. The auto-recording conditions include one or more scene descriptions that correspond to the activity type.

Auto-recording of media data

An image capture device may provide framing recommendations for capture of visual content. Framing recommendation may include information on how one or more subjects are to be positioned with respect to the image capture device. Framing recommendation may guide a user in how the image capture device and/or the subject(s) are to be positioned. Framing recommendation may include suggestions on orientation of the image capture device with respect to the subject(s) to improve composition of the subject(s) within the visual content. The image capture device may provide these aforementioned framing recommendations visually, audibly, and/or through other means. For example, the image capture device may provide framing recommendations in form of visual overlays/directional graphs and/or audible instructions (e.g., directions on subject/image capture device positioning provided through a speaker of the image capture device). Framing recommendation may be static (not changing over time) or dynamic (changing over time).

A list of supplemental media items may be provided to potentially include one or more supplemental media items in a sequence of media items. For example, a list of B-roll footage may be provided to a user creating a video edit, and the video edit may be modified to include the B-roll footage selected by the user. The list of B-roll footage may include B-roll footage that is suggested for inclusion in the video edit.

Provision of supplemental content for use in a video edit

An image capture system and methods for auto-recording media data are herein disclosed. A method includes selecting an activity-specific monitor based on an activity type and capturing data. The activity-specific monitor defines one or more auto-recording conditions that, when satisfied, cause the image capture system to record data. The method includes executing the activity-specific monitor. The activity-specific monitor may receive sensor data, determine whether the one or more auto-recording conditions defined by the activity-specific monitor are met, and output a notification indicating that the one or more auto-recording conditions are met. The method further includes writing a portion of the data captured to the persistent storage of the image capture system.
