The present disclosure relates platinum(IV) and texaphyrin linked conjugates and compositions comprising a texaphyrin and a platinum(IV) agent. The present disclosure also provides pharmaceutical compositions of the conjugates and compositions. Also, provided herein are methods of using the instant compounds in the treatment of cancer such as a platinum resistant cancer.

Texaphyrin-Pt(IV) conjugates and compositions for use in overcoming platinum resistance

The subject invention pertains to a modified MC1R peptide ligand comprising a peptide that is a melanocortin 1 receptor (MC1R) ligand and a functionality or linker, such as a click functionality, for conjugation to a surface or agent. The modified MC1R peptide ligand can be coupled, e.g., via a click reaction with a complementary click functionality attached, to a moiety to form an MC1R-targeted agent. Drugs, contrast agents, polymers, particles, micelles, surfaces of larger structures, or other moieties can be targeted to the MC1R. The subject invention also pertains to a MC1R peptide ligand-micelle complex comprising a peptide that is a melanocortin 1 receptor ligand connected via a click reaction product to a micelle. The micelle is stable in vivo and can target melanoma tumor cells by association of the peptide ligand with the MC1R or the tumor and selectively provide a detectable and/or therapeutic agent (such as an imagable contrast agent and/or anti-cancer agent) selectively to the tumor cell.

Melanocortin 1 receptor ligands and methods of use

The present disclosure relates to calixpyrrole compounds and compositions thereof. The calixpyrrole compounds are chemical groups which are located in such a manner so as to be useful for the selective extraction of specific salts. Also provided herein are compositions and methods of use thereof.

The present disclosure relates gold carbene naphthoquinone compounds and salts thereof. In some aspects, these compounds can be used to treat cancer including cancers which are resistant to one or more other chemotherapeutic agents such as cisplatin or platinum chemotherapeutic agents. Disclosed is an anticancer prodrug that disturbs energy metabolism in cancer cells to overcome drug resistance. The anticancer prodrug has a structure including a pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase (PDK) inhibitor moiety, a mitochondrial targeting group, and an anthracycline moiety reversibly connected to the PDK inhibitor moiety and the targeting group.

Polymeric compounds containing polymer backbones functionalized with ion-specific recognition elements and methods for the use of these compounds are described herein. The polymeric compounds may contain multiple types of ion-specific recognition elements depending on a specific application. The polymeric compounds can be used to remove ionic species from a solution, for example, in separations applications in which a single or multiple types of ionic species are desired to be removed from the solution.

Disclosed are functionalized expanded porphyrins that can be used as spectrometric sensors for high-valent actinide cations. The disclosed functionalized expanded porphyrins have the advantage over unfunctionalized systems in that they can be immobilized via covalent attachment to a solid support comprising an inorganic or organic polymer or other common substrates. Substrates comprising the disclosed functionalized expanded porphyrins are also disclosed. Further, disclosed are methods of making the disclosed compounds (immobilized and free), methods of using them as sensors to detect high valent actinides, devices that comprise the disclosed compounds, and kits.

Methods of treating cancer using at least one zinc ionophore and/or zinc chelator are also disclosed. Also disclosed herein are compositions and methods for treating cancer with combination therapy using at least one texaphyrin metal complex and at least one zinc ionophore or the respective pharmaceutically acceptable derivatives or salts thereof.
