An automobile vehicle wiper arm system includes a wiper arm base rotatably connected to a fixed structural member. A wiper arm extension is slidably disposed to the wiper arm base during wiper arm base travel about an arc of travel. A motion link is rotatably connected to the wiper arm extension and is rotatably connected to the fixed structural member. The motion link induces the wiper arm extension to outwardly displace and inwardly displace opposite to the outward displacement during wiper arm base rotation about the arc of travel. A wiper blade is connected to the wiper arm extension and traverses an oval-shaped travel arc along a vehicle windshield by the slidable displacement of the wiper arm extension during wiper arm base rotation. A linkage group connects the wiper arm extension to a wiper motor with rotation of the wiper arm base induced by operation of the wiper motor.

The present application generally relates to antennas embedded in or on glass structures. More specifically, the application teaches a wideband conformal antenna employing thin film constructions facilitating attachment to external automotive surfaces with capacitive feedback and integrated lighting to enable a conformal activation switch.

Methods and apparatus for optimizing battery life in a remote device

A communications and access system for a vehicle includes a vehicle module including a microprocessor and a sensor device integrated within each tire of a vehicle. The sensor device includes a tire pressure monitoring sensor and an antenna communicatively coupled to the sensor device. The antenna is configured to receive tire pressure data from the sensor device and a wireless communication from a device external to the vehicle. The system also includes another antenna communicatively coupled to the vehicle module. The other antenna receives the tire pressure data and the wireless communication transmitted by the sensor device via the antenna coupled to the sensor device. The system further includes logic executable by the microprocessor. The logic is configured to identify sources of the tire pressure data and the wireless communication, and transmit instructions to a body control module of the vehicle. The instructions are configured to perform a corresponding function.

Vehicle communications and access

A method of enabling communications between a Bluetooth low energy master communication device in a vehicle and a slave communication device. The slave communication device is successfully paired with a Bluetooth high energy master communication device in the vehicle. An identifier of the slave communication device is stored when it is successfully paired with the Bluetooth high energy master communication device. The Bluetooth low energy master communication device identifies an advertising event broadcast by the slave communication device. The advertising event relates to a notification by the slave communication device of the availability of its services. A determination is made whether the identifier of the slave communication device matches the stored identifier. Wireless communications between the Bluetooth low energy master communication device and the slave communication device is autonomously established without a manual pairing operation in response to an identifier of the slave communication device matching the stored identifier.
