A device for separating analytes is disclosed. The device has a sample injector, sample injection needle, sample reservoir container in communication with the sample injector, chromatography column downstream of the sample injector, and fluid conduits connecting the sample injector and the column. The interior surfaces of the fluid conduits, sample injector, sample reservoir container, and column form a flow path having wetted surfaces. A portion of the wetted surfaces of the flow path are coated with an alkylsilyl coating that is inert to at least one of the analytes. The alkylsilyl coating has the Formula I: R, R, R, R, R, and Rare each independently selected from (C-C)alkoxy, —NH(C-C)alkyl, —N((C-C)alkyl), OH, OR, and halo. Rrepresents a point of attachment to the interior surfaces of the fluidic system. At least one of R, R, R, R, R, and Ris OR. X is (C-C)alkyl, —O[(CH)O]—, —(C-C)[NH(CO)NH(C-C)]—, or —(C-C)[alkylphenyl(C-C)alkyl]-.

The present technology relates to a customizable sample preparation device (e.g., liquid sample preparation device, such as a purification, clean-up, or separation device). In particular, the present technology relates to customizable devices formed from modular segments tailored to address one or more of the following: to optimize different sample and elution volumes, to incorporate various connection mechanisms to liquid handlers, to incorporate various liquid dispensing flow conditions, and to fulfill broad applications through the selection of specific resin for sample preparation. Some embodiments are directed to affinity capture devices, such as for example, Protein A affinity capture devices, utilizing a polymethacrylate-based resin. Described are apparatuses, devices, and systems implementing seals for separation devices. An apparatus for a separation device may include an end nut shaped to be positioned on one of an inlet side and an outlet side of the separation device. The end nut may be further shaped to mate with a connecting fitting. The apparatus may further include a face seal having a device side and a fitting side. The face seal may be positioned, at least in part, in the end nut on the device side of the face seal. The face seal may be positioned to interface with the connecting fitting on the fitting side of the face seal upon the end nut being mated with the connecting fitting. The apparatus may also include a face seal bore of the face seal being axially alignable with at least one of an inlet and an outlet of the separation device.

A device includes a wall having a wetted surface exposed to a mobile phase including the sample during chromatographic separation. The wetted surface of the wall includes an alloy material including the following constituents: nickel, and cobalt and/or chromium where the alloy is limited in an amount of titanium to 1 wt %. A component includes a body having a wetted surface exposed to a mobile phase including the sample during chromatographic separation. A clamp assembly includes a rail configured to receive a first fluidic assembly, and a carriage slidably mounted to the rail and configured to receive a second fluidic assembly. The carriage is operable to establish a first fluid tight seal between the first fluidic assembly and a chromatography column received within the claim assembly, and to establish a second fluid tight seal between the second fluidic assembly and the chromatography column.

The invention provides filters and methods of assembling filters. In an exemplary embodiment, the filter includes a porous element, a compression element, and a housing. The compression element can be configured to receive the porous element, thereby forming an assembly. For example, the compression element can receive the porous element in a slip-fit relationship. The housing can have an opening formed therein that is configured to receive the assembly. In some embodiments, the assembly can be retained within the opening when the assembly is received therein. For example, the opening can receive the assembly in a press-fit relationship.

Various embodiments are generally directed to techniques for monitoring chromatographic fluid flows, such as the flow to and/or from one or more reservoirs used in chromatographic operations, for instance. Described is a mobile phase fitting having reduced corrosion and erosion. The fitting includes a coupling body, compression screw, compression member and gasket. The coupling body has a threaded bore at one end, a tapered cavity, a narrow bore and a fluid channel. The compression screw has an axial bore to receive a tube and a threaded outer surface in engagement with the threaded bore of the coupling body. The compression member is disposed in the tapered cavity and has an axial opening to pass the tube and a tapered surface to engage a surface of the tapered cavity. The gasket is disposed in the narrow bore and has one surface in contact with the first internal surface and has a parallel surface to receive an end face of the tube. The leak detection system includes a sealable compartment disposed to surround at least one component of a chromatography system.
