A cup holder insert having a retainer housing having front and rear surfaces which define an opening bounded by the perimeter of said retainer housing and a spring-biased retention element, further comprising at least one support section and at least one tab section extending substantially orthogonal to each other. The at least one support section is coupled with the retainer housing with tab extending from the opening substantially perpendicularly to said front surface of the retainer housing. In some embodiments, a flap can selectively cover the tab section.

Coagulation testing in underfilled patient samples

An EEG monitor with sensors placed to detect signals and analyze the signals to determine if a frequency below 12 Hz, and more particularly between 3 Hz and 8 Hz, called theta waves, are present. Theta waves are generated when the brain is entering a drowsy or sleep mode. The sensors detect brain wave signals and transmit the signals to a microprocessor which analyzes the signals and determines the brain waves being detected. The brain waves are continuously monitored and the data is continuously transmitted to a microprocessor. If brain waves are detected in the predetermined range of between 3 Hz and 8 Hz the microprocessor activates a stimulus, to wake up the person wearing the device. The stimulus may be visual, auditory or tactile, such as an actuator, a phone call or any other stimulus.

Systems and methods for providing a waking mechanism

Example apparatus and methods cause activation of target neural tissue through electrical stimulation of a connected white matter tract to reduce the hyper-excitability of the target neural tissue and thus reduce seizures while preserving memory in humans. Example apparatus and methods apply low frequency (e.g., &#x3c;10 HZ) electrical stimulation to the forno-dorso-commissure (FDC), detect an electrical signal generated in an area connected to, innervated by, or that can be activated by the FDC in response to the stimulation, and reconfigure the stimulation based on the detected signal and a desired therapeutic effect. The stimulation may be reconfigured to produce an electrical stimulation waveform that will produce the desired therapeutic effect. The desired therapeutic effect may be, for example, reducing hyper-excitability of neural tissue in a target area, reducing hippocampal spikes, reducing seizure odds, or improving recall.

A foldable walking stabilizer device for a disabled person having a U-shaped base with caster assemblies on each leg of the base and upright members extending from the base, the upright members having brake assemblies normally preventing the caster assemblies to move and adapted to release the casters for movement on manipulation of the brake assemblies, wherein the brake assemblies have an adjustable tension control associated with the caster assemblies for permitting a user to slow down or speed up walking movement. The invention also discloses a fulcrum device on the base which permits the user to lift the device over curbs and similar obstructions, as well as improved folding mechanism which permits the device to be conveniently collapsed by the user for storage and transport.

Processes and systems for creating and/or modifying font glyphs comprising the addition of variably-sized negative space perforations in various shapes placed among the glyph body black space and within the glyph body outline. Within each negative space perforation may be placed nested positive space perforations of variable size and shape. A user of font glyphs generated in accordance with the invention can employ the font glyphs for on-screen digital viewing and/or for hardcopy prints. By using variable-sized perforations and variable-sized nested perforations, font glyphs are generated that consume less printing compound when generating hardcopy text. Font glyphs generated in accordance with the invention are more efficient to use when printing hardcopies due to intelligently arranged negative/positive space that utilizes print compound bleeding, when available, and display only the most distinct sections of each font glyph, assisting in maintaining sufficient text legibility.

Print compound conserving font production method

A walking stabilizer equipped to combat the effects of akinesia paradoxica by employing a novel method and device to regulate and actuate a projection instrument which generates a pattern perpendicular to the user's direction of travel. The regulating and actuating device comprises a two pole series switch circuit configuration in tandem with the walking stabilizer's novel dual action braking mechanism. The projection device is only operable when the user concurrently selects its use and when the walker stabilizer is free for movement or in contact with the patient.

A foldable walking stabilizer device to assist movement of a physically disabled person, having a base with horizontally aligned opposed arms joined by a connecting arm, rotatable wheel assemblies adapted for rotation responsive to movement by a disabled person, one wheel assembly arranged on each of opposed base arms, upright members extending from each opposed arm above a wheel assemblies, supporting the disabled person between the base arms, and means for regulating movement of the device. The device has a novel spring loaded caster assembly for clearing obstacles, and a braking and tension system which permit the device to be stopped or slowed down.
