Floor jack

A dead blow slide hammer body with a through bore that receives and slides on a shaft. The hammer body includes one-or-more internal longitudinal cavities, lateral to the through bore, filled with a dampening material. When the hammer body sliding on the shaft strikes a slide stop, the dampening material creates a 'dead blow' effect, increasing the duration of impact, while insulating a user from the shock.

A hammer head with an internal cavity including weights that are sized to restrict the weights from escaping from a crack in the hammer or are easily collected and accounted for should the hammer separate to ensure foreign objects and debris do not contaminate sensitive work spaces. The weights are shaped to allow the weights to longitudinally move in the internal cavity. The weights may take the form of a number of different shapes.

An adapter for a bearing race and seal driver tool that allows the tool to be used in hard to reach applications. The adapter connects to a driver and a handle at a non-zero angle, for example a right angle, to allow the adapter to be struck at a face of the adapter rather than the handle to be struck at an end of the handle. A pocket is included at one or more connection points between the adapter and the handle or driver to resist rotational movement of the handle or driver.

The present invention relates broadly to a floor jack and a multi-component trunnion assembly that transfers motion of a power unit to the lifting arm of the jack. The end block may include one or more trunnions that are coupled to the block. The trunnions may engage and be coupled to one or more connection plates coupled to the lifting arm of the jack. A hydraulic power unit, including at least one piston may be coupled to the trunnion block for lifting the lifting arm of the jack.

A tool extension adapted to couple to a drive lug of a driver and a tool that allows the tool to reach hard to reach places without room for a coupling. The tool extension voids the need for a larger diameter coupling by including a female recess in an end of the tool extension that receives the bit into the shaft itself.

A floor jack locking assembly is presented. The locking assembly may include a locking pin used to mechanically lock out the jack at a specified lift height. The locking assembly may avoid the hydraulic lift cylinder being the only stabilizing component of the jack when supporting a significant load. The locking pin may be coupled to lifting link arms, avoiding the need to have the locking pin inserted into or through the lifting arm of the jack.

A lift arm of a floor jack is composed of a number of components made from metal bar stock. The lift arm is adapted to transfer power and motion from a power unit to a saddle, which is adapted to be placed at a lift point of the vehicle, thereby applying pressure to the lift point and raising the vehicle.

A hydraulic power unit for a floor jack that includes an internally-adjustable relief valve that is inaccessible to an operator without removing the power unit from the jack assembly and disassembling the power unit. By placing the relief valve inside of the hydraulic assembly, hidden from operators, the relief valve is less likely to be accidently adjusted when using or servicing the jack.

Handles and other accessories for a remote or extension wrench that assists the user better control and maneuver the remote wrench relative to a work piece. For example, the remote wrench housing can include a handle that is coupled to the remote wrench. The handle can also be rotatable relative to the remote wrench and positionable at a desired angle of rotation for improved maneuverability.

A compact head body hammer that requires less clearance to operate as compared to conventional hammers. The hammer does not include a secondary tool located on the rear of the hammer, for example, a pry or a wedge. In omitting these secondary tools, the hammer provides more clearance and allows greater pull back prior to the user striking an object. Further, the hammer head can weigh substantially the same as a conventional hammer head, for example, seven ounces, so that the striking power of the hammer is not compromised by the compact nature of the hammer. The centerline of the hammer head base can be offset with respect to a centerline of the hammer handle, which also provides less mass at the rear portion of the hammer head and allows greater pull back prior to striking the object.
