A cam unit for arranging on a camshaft main part of a camshaft in a rotationally fixed and axially movable manner. The cam unit includes a tubular sleeve main part and at least one cam element that lies on the sleeve main part in a rotationally fixed and non-movable manner. The sleeve main part and the at least one cam element are designed as individual parts that can be separately produced and subsequently assembled.

Cam unit for a constructed camshaft

A camshaft for actuating the gas exchange valves of an internal combustion engine. The camshaft includes a camshaft tube, a hydraulic camshaft adjuster, a valve for controlling the hydraulic fluid supplied to the camshaft adjuster and an actuation device, arranged in the interior of the camshaft tube, for actuating the valve. The actuation device is secured against displacement in the axial direction. The camshaft is light-weight and functional elements in addition to the actuation device and optionally the valve can be integrated into the interior of the camshaft. It should furthermore be possible to arrange an oil or vacuum pump at the end of the camshaft opposite the camshaft adjuster, the pump being drivable by the camshaft. The actuation device is designed as an electromagnetic, piezoelectric or electrical actuator and is connected to the camshaft tube such that they rotate together.

Camshaft with camshaft adjuster

An assembled camshaft includes an outer hollow camshaft body and an inner camshaft body disposed within the outer hollow camshaft body and mounted so as to rotate relative to it by a predetermined angle. The camshaft also includes at least two separate cam elements. A first cam element is connected with the inner camshaft body so as to rotate with it, and is disposed so as to rotate relative to the outer hollow camshaft body. A second cam element has at least two partial cam elements, in such a manner that a first partial cam element is disposed on the outer hollow camshaft body, so as to rotate with it, and a second partial cam element is connected with the inner camshaft body, so as to rotate with it, and is disposed so that it can be rotated relative to the outer hollow camshaft body.

Assembled camshaft

An adjustment device () for adjusting the relative rotational angle position of a camshaft () in relation to a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine is provided, with the device having an adjustment mechanism (), which is embodied as a triple-shaft transmission and provided with an input part () fixed to the crankshaft, an output part fixed to the camshaft, and an adjusting shaft () connected to an adjusting motor shaft () of an adjusting motor (). The motor () is provided as an electric motor and is spatially separated from the adjusting shaft (), and the torque produced thereby is transmitted to the adjusting shaft (), either mechanically via a flexible shaft (), pneumatically via a compressor () operating a pneumatic motor () using pressurized air, or hydraulically via a hydraulic motor () and a pump () providing the hydraulic medium. The adjusting motor () can also be arranged parallel to the adjusting shaft () or radially in relation thereto, and the torque is transmitted by toothed gearing or a secondary drive.

Adjustment device for adjusting the relative rotational angle position of a camshaft in relation to a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine

An adjustment device () for adjusting the relative rotational angle position of a camshaft () in relation to a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine is provided, with the device having an adjustment mechanism (), which is embodied as a triple-shaft transmission and provided with an input part () fixed to the crankshaft, an output part fixed to the camshaft, and an adjusting shaft () connected to an adjusting motor shaft () of an adjusting motor (). The motor () is provided as an electric motor and is arranged parallel to the camshaft (). The motor generates an adjustment torque that is transmitted to the adjustment shaft () via a secondary drive () that has a belt drive, a chain drive, a cardan drive, or an additional spur gear stage.

An electromotive camshaft adjuster for adjusting the angle of rotation of the camshaft () of an internal combustion engine relative to the crankshaft thereof is provided. The camshaft adjuster includes a triple-shaft gear mechanism, which has a driving wheel (') that is fixed to the crankshaft and is embodied as a sprocket or a synchronous belt wheel, an output part which is fixed to the camshaft, and an adjustment shaft () which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to a rotor of an electric adjustment motor, having a stator that is fixed on the internal combustion engine. In order to keep the effort for producing the adjusting gears relatively low, the triple-shaft gear mechanism is preferably constructed as a swashplate or single eccentric internal gear drive (), the effort for production thereof being minimized by forming the same in a non-cutting manner, reducing the number of components, and inexpensively adjusting or compensating the backlash.

Electromotive camshaft adjuster

The invention relates to an electric camshaft adjuster for adjusting and securing the phase angle of a camshaft of an internal combustion engine with respect to its crankshaft, having a three shaft gearing which is embodied as a harmonic drive () of sleeve design, and a drive wheel () which is fixed to the crankshaft and has a first ring gear () as well as an output component () which is fixed to the camshaft and has a second ring gear () arranged next to the first ring gear () and an adjustment shaft ('&#x2033;) which can be driven by an electric adjustment motor, with a wave generator (&#x2033;) which has means for elliptically deforming a flexurally elastic, externally toothed sleeve (). A way of improving a harmonic drive of sleeve design is for the expenditure on the construction of the harmonic drive () to be lowered by changes to the wave generator (), and for the axial installation space thereof to be lowered by integrating the ring gears () into the drive wheel () and output component () which are pushed axially one into the other.

Electric camshaft adjuster

A camshaft adjuster for adjusting the relative angular positions of a camshaft and a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine in accordance with a setting shaft is provided. In which the setting shaft is driven by a setting assembly and has a driving connection with an adjusting gear through a coupling. The drive moment is transmitted in the coupling by a radial extension () of a first coupling half (), which contacts a second coupling half () without play in a circumferential direction and which is movable in a direction of a Y-Y axis relative to a second coupling half (). This permits compensation of eccentricities between the setting shaft of the setting assembly and the adjusting gear.

Camshaft adjuster

Adjustment device () for adjusting a relative rotational angle position of a camshaft () relative to a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine is provided. The adjusting device includes a crankshaft-fixed drive part () and a camshaft-fixed driven part (). The adjustment device () has an adjustment motor () as a primary adjustment device and an auxiliary drive () as a secondary adjustment device. When the adjusting motor fails, the camshaft () can be moved into a fixed rotational angle position, an emergency running position, by the auxiliary drive ().

Electrically driven camshaft adjuster

The invention relates to a device () for the electrical adjustment of the relative rotary-angle position between a camshaft () and a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine, with an adjusting gear () which has a driving part () fixed with respect to the crankshaft, a driven part () fixed with respect to the camshaft and an adjusting shaft () connected fixedly in terms of rotation to an adjustment-unit shaft () of an electrical adjustment unit (). In order to achieve a simpler type of construction which, moreover, is distinguished by quiet running, there is provision, according to the invention, for the adjusting shaft () to be arranged in a radially floating manner.

Camshaft adjustment device for an internal combustion engine

The invention relates to a device () for the variable setting of the control times of gas-exchange valves of an internal combustion engine, with a driving element (), with a driven element () and with an adjusting gear () designed as a triple-shaft gear, the driving element () being mounted rotatably with respect to the driven element () on the latter or on the camshaft (). The relative phase position of the driven element () with respect to the driving element () can be selectively varied or held by means of the adjusting gear (). According to the invention, it is proposed to mount the driving element () on the driven element () by means of rolling bearings (). Radial and/or axial forces can thereby be supported in an optimized way in terms of friction, as a result of which the efficiency of the device () is increased.

Device for the variable setting of the control times of gas-exchange valves of an internal combustion engine

An electrical adjusting device for changing an angle of rotation of a camshaft () relative to a crankshaft of an internal-combustion engine is provided. The device includes an adjusting gear unit (), which is formed as a triple-shaft gear unit, including an input part () that is fixed to the crankshaft, an output part () that is fixed to the camshaft, and an adjusting shaft (), which is connected in a torsion-proof manner to an electric adjusting motor () having a permanent magnet rotor and a stator () fixed to the housing. A stationary gear ratio (i), the value of which defines the adjusting gear unit () as a positive or negative gear unit and deter-mines whether a direction of adjustment of the camshaft () is into an advanced or retarded base position, is located between the input part () and the output part () when the adjusting shaft is at rest. Due to the configuration of the adjusting gear unit (), stationary gear ratios are provided, through which an advanced and a retarded base position of the camshaft () can be reached exclusively through braking of the adjusting shaft () when the adjusting gear unit () is rotating, and the braking of the adjusting shaft () is carried out through short-circuit braking of the adjusting motor ().

A device for varying valve timing in an internal combustion engine comprises an adjusting mechanism for varying an angle of rotation between a drive pinion () and a camshaft (end portion of the camshaft), said adjusting mechanism being configured as a wobble transmission. The drive pinion () comprises a first front-end gearing () and a disk () comprises a second front-end gearing (), which first and second front-end gearings mesh partially with each other, and the number of teeth of said front-end gearings differ from each other by at least one tooth. To reduce the overall dimensions of the device and avoid gearing lash, it is proposed, on the one hand, to connect the disk () rotationally fast to the camshaft () and on the other hand, to configure the disk () in axial direction of the camshaft () as a flexible element that can be deformed in axial direction by an adjusting device (thrust plate).
