There is described an endovascular prosthesis delivery device. The subject endovascular prosthesis delivery device comprises a combination of a delivery frame element and a hub insert element that are secured to one another by a first retention element. At a distal portion of the delivery frame element, there is a prosthesis attachment zone for coupling to an endovascular prosthesis. When it is desired to deploy the endovascular prosthesis, the first retention element is broken in a manner to allow relative movement between the hub insert element and the delivery frame element. A pull wire assembly is secured with respect to the hub insert element and comprises a pull wire which is coupled to the endovascular prosthesis in the prosthesis attachment zone of the delivery frame element. Once the first retention element is broken by the physician (this is done when the endovascular prosthesis is in the correct position for deployment), the physician can then retract the hub insert which has the effect of retracting pull wire from the prosthesis attachment zone of the delivery frame element. The endovascular prosthesis and the endovascular prosthesis delivery device are now detached from one another and the latter may be withdrawn from the patient.

Endovascular prosthesis delivery device

In one of its aspects, the present invention relates to an endovascular prosthesis. The endovascular prosthesis includes a first expandable portion expandable from a first, unexpanded state to a second, expanded state to urge the first expandable portion against a vascular lumen and a retractable leaf portion attached to the first expandable portion. The retractable leaf portion comprises at least one spine portion and a plurality of rib portions attached to the spine portion. Longitudinally adjacent pairs of rib portions are free of interconnecting struts. The endovascular prosthesis that can be unsheathed and re-sheathed for repositioning of the endovascular prosthesis prior to final deployment thereof. There is also described a delivery device that that is particularly well suited to delivering the present endovascular prosthesis through tortuous vasculature in the body.

Endovascular prosthesis and delivery device

There is disclosed a novel endovascular prosthesis that has an improved rotational range of proper placement of the prosthesis with respect to the opening of the aneurysm and provides improved flexibility with respect to longitudinal positioning of the device in the artery. This provides the clinician with a significant advantage over the prior art devices described above. The present elongate endovascular prosthesis comprises a first expandable portion expandable from a first, unexpanded state to a second, expanded state to urge the first expandable portion against the wall of the vascular lumen such as an artery. The endovascular prosthesis further comprises a retractable leaf portion attached to the first expandable portion; the retractable leaf portion serves to facilitate stasis and thrombotic occlusion of the aneurysm. The retractable leaf portion comprises at least one spine portion and a plurality of rib portions attached to the spine portion.

Endovascular prosthesis and method for delivery of an endovascular prosthesis

A stent comprises a plurality of undulating circumferential portions, each circumferential portion comprising alternating peaks and valleys; and a plurality of longitudinally extending portions connecting the plurality of undulating circumferential portions. Each of the plurality of longitudinally extending portions contains a first longitudinally extending strut and a second longitudinally extending strut circumferentially offset with respect to the first longitudinally extending strut. The first longitudinally extending strut and the second longitudinally extending strut are interconnected by a connecting portion. Circumferentially adjacent first longitudinally extending struts in a pair of circumferentially adjacent longitudinally extending portions are circumferentially spaced at a first distance and circumferentially adjacent second longitudinally extending struts in the pair of circumferentially adjacent longitudinally extending portions are circumferentially spaced at a second distance. The first distance is greater than the second distance. The present stent has a very desirable balance of conformability and flexibility while obviating or mitigating crashing, out of tubular configuration and other problems (as discussed herein).

In one of its aspects, the present invention relates to an endovascular prosthesis. A sample testing apparatus () for use in measuring an analyte in a sample () is disclosed. The apparatus includes a sample well () for receiving the sample. A solid analyte binding agent () is disposed in the sample well. The apparatus further includes a mixing device () for mixing the sample with the solid analyte binding agent and a valve (). The valve is configurable between a closed position for impeding flow of the sample from the sample well and an open position for releasing the sample from the sample well. The apparatus additionally includes a membrane () for receiving the sample once released from the sample well, the membrane having a capture reagent () adapted to interact with at least one of the analyte, the analyte binding agent, or a complex thereof, to aid in determining the amount of the analyte in the sample.
