A dental light comprises at least one light emitting diode light source configured to produce a light beam and at least one collimating lens system situated to receive the light beam. The collimating lens system is configured to collect and collimate the light beam. The collimating lens system can additionally modify the beam through controlled diffusion or shape the beam using an aperture.

An arm for supporting a monitor comprises a telescoping arm assembly, a support member and a cord storage device. The telescoping arm assembly has at least first and second telescoping members telescopingly movable relative to each other, a distal end configured to support a monitor and a hollow interior through which at least one cord from the monitor can be routed. The support member is connected to the telescoping arm assembly proximally of the distal end to suspend the telescoping arm assembly. The support member is configured to extend transverse to the telescoping arm assembly and to be attached to a support surface. The cord storage device is positioned at least partially within at least one of the telescoping arm assembly or the support member. The cord storage device winds and unwinds the cord from the monitor as the first and second telescoping members are moved toward and away from each other, respectively.

Described herein are various embodiments of a dental delivery system. For example, in one exemplary embodiment, a rear dental delivery system through which at least one of water, air and vacuum are delivered for use by a care giver in treating a patient occupying a nearby dental chair can include at least one movable arm that is pivotably mounted to a pivot connection and an upright mounted to the at least one movable arm. The pivot connection can be mounted at approximately a floor level and the at least one movable arm can be configured to pivot slightly above the floor level so as to reduce obstruction in a space separating the dental chair from the dental delivery system.

A system for reconfigurably adapting a dental chair for use, including, e.g., use from the right side or left side, use by right-handed or left-handed practitioners and use in various dentistry practice styles, may include a link arm, a primary arm and a secondary arm. The link arm is pivotably connectible to a rear side of the dental chair. The primary arm is pivotably connectible to the link arm to swing in a generally horizontal plane about a generally vertical axis. The secondary arm is coupleable to the link arm, preferably along substantially the same axis. The secondary arm has multiple pivotably connected segments allowing its distal end to be positioned as desired.

An electronic interconnect assembly has a high speed coaxial interconnect for a coaxial transmission line having a central signal conductor and a surrounding shield conductor. The coaxial interconnect has a male side and a female side, with the female side including a shield sleeve having a chamber that receives a male shield contact on the male side. The shield sleeve has a contact with a compliant portion that flexibly grips the male shield contact. A mechanical alignment facility includes a closely mating pocket and body, each attached to a respective male or female side of the interconnect. Additional data and power connectors may be included with the pocket and body.

A stackable, recessed, locking, insulated thumbscrew for connecting modules together in a stack such that removal of one module from the stack does not loosen other modules in the stack has an insulated knurled cap that fits over the end of a main screw body. The main screw body has an interior threaded end and an exterior threaded end, with the knurled cap slidable over the interior threaded end by means of a bayonet pin on the main screw body and corresponding bayonet slot in the knurled cap. A cap spring is captured between a retainer flange integral with or retainer ring mounted on the interior threaded end adjacent the exterior threaded end and the knurled cap to apply pressure to the knurled cap. In a raised position the knurled cap may be readily grasped for manual screwing and unscrewing of the thumbscrew to add or remove a module from the stack. In a recessed position where the knurled cap is depressed and rotated the knurled cap extends sufficiently so that locking surfaces on the cap engage a locking feature in an upper module so that when the upper module is removed by unscrewing the upper thumbscrew, the lower thumbscrew is restrained from turning, thus keeping the lower module securely fastened in the stack.

A crimpless strain relief termination for a coaxial cable has a crimpless mechanical termination and a strain relief bushing. The mechanical termination has a knurled bushing that is placed over the coaxial cable in a region where the outer insulating layer has been removed so that the bushing is in electrical contact with the outer shielding conductor of the cable. The outer shielding conductor is folded over the bushing such that the outer shielding conductor is in contact with knurling on the bushing. A heat shrinkable material having an inner adhesive coating is positioned over the bushing and heated to activate the adhesive and shrink the material to capture the shielding conductor between the heat shrinkable material and the bushing. The coaxial cable with the crimpless mechanical termination is inserted into a bore in a strain relief bushing that has an inwardly formed shoulder that engages the crimpless mechanical termination to provide mechanical strain relief for the coaxial cable.
