Methods and devices for combining a mask with a selectively progressing video stream may include receiving a selection of at least one mask with a mask zone that obscures at least a portion of the video stream. The methods and devices may include receiving a selection to emplace the at least one mask at a first location within the video stream. The methods and devices may include receiving a selection to enable a tracking icon to move the at least one mask to a second location within the video stream while the video stream progresses. The methods and devices may include generating a combined output of the video stream and the selective emplacement and movement of the at least one mask during the video stream progression.

A method of requesting access through a door may involve: causing a mobile computing device to receive an identifier of the door; and causing the mobile computing device to transmit an access request to an access-control system, the access request comprising data representing at least the identifier of the door and an access code. Methods and systems for access control

Provided is novel technology for secure security data transmission and more particularly for registering network-enabled security devices such as IP cameras to a security server over a public network such as to a cloud-based security service. An enrolment server is provided that is logged into using a computing device to request and receive an activation code for the security device. The activation code is then provided to the security device, e.g. directly by the computing device. The Security device authenticates itself based on the activation code and in one example provides a public key that will be used to verify its registration. Data transmissions by the device are secured in part on the basis of its registration.
