An approach is provided for presenting an activation indicator to a user. A connection with a mobile device is detected. Retrieval is caused, at least in part, of a unique hardware identifier associated with the mobile device. It is determined that the mobile device is eligible for a service based on the unique hardware identifier. Presentation is caused, at least in part, of a visual indicator of the eligibility for the service based on the determination.

Method and apparatus for the activation of services

A method, apparatus, and computer program product are provided for managing content on at least two devices. An interface provides a listing of content, such as multimedia files, stored on devices such as a personal computer and/or mobile device. Indicators associated with a content item indicate whether or not associated content is stored on the respective devices. Selection of an indicator may result in copying of files from one device to another, deletion of a media file from a respective device, and/or downloading a file from a location remote from either or both devices to a respective device. Indicators may be updated to reflect the completion of copying, deletion, and/or downloading.

Handling content associated with content identifiers

A method including receiving a user selection of a first media content, determining a second media content based on characteristics of the first media content in relation to characteristics of the second media content, and determining a third media content based on the characteristics of the second media content in relation to characteristics of the third media content. The method further includes causing, at least in part, display of a first icon representing the second media content and a second icon representing the third media content.
