The invention relates to an automated hand, such as a prosthetic hand. In one form, the automated hand may be fluid compatible. In one form, the automated hand may comprise features to reduce the risk of harm to motors and/or other sensitive components of the hand when subject to an impact. In one form, the hand may comprise a wrist joint configured to allow the hand to curl and flex and/or to rotate. In one form, one or more digits of the hand may be individually controlled. In one form the hand may include a thumb rotation locking mechanism. In one form the hand may be provided with removable grip plates. In one form, the hand may be configured for use as a training hand.

Automated hand

In a measuring method for measuring an atmospheric concentration of a compound, such as a volatile organic compound (VOC), an adsorptive element is provided within a target atmosphere for a period of time to allow adsorption of a compound of interest, and then removed from the target atmosphere, and placed within a closed measuring space. The adsorptive element is heated within the measuring space to cause de-adsorption of the compound into the closed measuring space, and a concentration of the de-adsorbed compound is measured. A concentration of the compound in the target atmosphere is determined based on the concentration of the compound within the closed measuring space. The adsorptive element may be formed of an adsorptive material such as carbon fibers, cellulose or other adsorptive materials, and a binder. The adsorptive element may be optimized for adsorption of a specific compound.

Apparatus and method for measuring a gas

In a measuring method for measuring an atmospheric concentration of a compound, such as a volatile organic compound (VOC), an adsorptive element is provided within a target atmosphere for a period of time to allow adsorption of a compound of interest for measurement, and then removed from the target atmosphere, and placed within a closed measuring space. The adsorptive element is heated within the measuring space to cause de-adsorption of the compound into the closed measuring space, and a concentration of the de-adsorbed compound is measured. A concentration of the compound in the target atmosphere is determined based on the concentration of the compound within the closed measuring space. The adsorptive element may be formed of an adsorptive material such as carbon fibers, cellulose or other adsorptive materials, and a binder. The adsorptive element may be optimized for adsorption of a specific compound.

A spray apparatus includes a pump, a reservoir and an atomizing unit in fluid communication within a fluid circuit. The atomizing unit comprises a housing enclosure defining an enclosed interior space. An aperture is defined a front wall of the housing, and an ultrasonic atomizer is disposed within the interior space proximate to the aperture. A fluid supply port extends into the interior space, arranged to deliver a fluid pumped by the pump to the ultrasonic atomizer. An overflow return port extends from the interior space, and is arranged to return fluid from the interior space to the reservoir. The fluid supply port may be arranged to deliver a fluid into a fluid receiving space such that the atomizer becomes at least partially immersed within a fluid during operation. Alternatively, the fluid supply port may be arranged to direct a stream of fluid against a surface of the atomizer.

Atomizing spray apparatus

A security device for protecting stored sensitive data includes a closed housing including an array of conductor paths and tamper detecting means adapted to detect a change in impedance of the array of conductor paths above a predetermined threshold value.
