A biodegradable triblock copolymer comprising: an A-B-A' structure wherein the A and A′ blocks each include polylactide, the B block includes from about 55 to about 100 mole percent of polytrimethylene carbonate and 0 to about 45 mole percent polylactide, and the biodegradable triblock copolymer overall includes from about 15 to about 25 mole percent of the polytrimethylene carbonate and from about 75 to about 85 mole percent of the polylactide. Also provided are compositions and implantable medical devices made therefrom.

A surgical stitching device is configured for single hand operation that enables passage of a suture needle through tissue with minimal operational requirement. The surgical needle is selectively securable to a tool assembly of the surgical stitching device. The tool assembly includes a jaw configured to securely support various surgical needles in various orientations.

A balloon dissector assembly includes a balloon dissector having an elongate shaft, a handle disposed on a proximal portion of the elongate shaft, and a dissection balloon supported on a distal portion of the elongate shaft. The present disclosure relates to a method of forming yarns and preparing surgical devices therefrom. The yarns include at least one first filament possessing a polymer core and first reactive members known to have click reactivity on a surface thereof and at least one second filament possessing a polymer core and second reactive members known to have click reactivity on a surface thereof. The first and second reactive members are complementary such that they interact to covalently bond the filaments together.

A suture including a reinforced loop is described herein. The suture includes an elongate body including a proximal section and a distal section, wherein the distal section includes first and second overlapping sections and a loop. A polymeric coating is positioned on at least a portion of the distal section to reinforce the loop.

A method for attaching an implant to tissue is disclosed. In embodiments, a method includes applying a sprayable material to tissue, the sprayable material possessing functional groups capable of binding to tissue. The sprayable material also possesses functional groups capable of binding to an implant. In embodiments, the functional groups capable of binding to an implant include nucleotides. In such a case, the implant possesses complementary nucleotides capable of binding to the nucleotides on the sprayable material, thereby permitting hydrogen binding between the two. The implant may thus be affixed to tissue, and repositioned as necessary, prior to more permanent attachment utilizing means such as sutures, tacks, etc.
