Provided are a universal software installer and/or uninstaller. The universal software installer determines a structure of the software to be installed and verifies all necessary software elements are applied or installed on the endpoint during the install. The universal software uninstaller determines a structure of the software to be uninstalled and verifies all related software elements are removed from the endpoint. The universal software installer and/or uninstaller is independent of an operating system platform executing on the endpoint.

Systems and methods that employ dynamic credentials across distinct authentication standards can be used to reduce the burden associated with repeated re-authentication. A utility can be employed during logon in an alternate operating environment that stores information from the logon dynamically and generates a credential file that is employed to grant access to a resource without repeating the earlier logon procedure, even if the device changes its user state. After processes requiring resource access are complete, or when an allowed time expires, the granted access is revoked and the device returns to a default or standard authentication technique.

Dynamic authentication in alternate operating environment

An ergonomic computer mouse for comfortably accommodating a user's foot includes a substantially circular pad having a planar upper surface, a planar lower surface and at least one peripheral edge. Outwardly extending from the peripheral edge are a pair of arms, each having a control button at a distal end that functions as either a 'left' or 'right' button found on a conventional mouse. On the upper surface of the housing are a plurality of peripheral, multidirectional arrows that, when depressed with a foot, move a cursor in a corresponding direction on the screen. Likewise, a centrally disposed zoom button can be manipulated with a foot to enlarge, reduce or scroll through displayed screen content. Accordingly, a user can completely control all typical mouse functions with a foot to prevent wrist and hand stress or injury.
