A method and system for maintaining privacy in private postal mail, such as privileged or other legal postal mail or medical mail, at a correctional facility comprising a privacy verification system to verify a privacy status of a sender and generate privacy status identifiers to be used on the legal postal mail. The privacy status identifiers when scanned or observed at a mail processing facility that processes incoming mail sent to inmates who are incarcerated in a correctional facility provides an indication to the mail processing facility that the mail is private so that appropriate measures can be taken to maintain privacy status.

The present invention relates to a smart wearable for use in correctional facilities. The correctional facility environment presents numerous challenges for which conventional smart wearables are not well suited, in particular maintaining sufficient battery power for operating the wearable over extended periods of time. The present invention provides a wearable with a removable battery pack which emphasizes improved battery life over conventional wearable aspects of small size and aesthetic appearance. The smart wearable disclosed herein is particularly well suited for correctional facilities due to the ability to power the wearable without the use of cables or wires for power or charging purposes. The smart wearable further provides for the ability to monitor inmate location and behavior which can be used to detect or predict undesirable actions.

The stationary bike having a frame portion, an adjustable seat portion, an adjustable handle portion, a drive mechanism, a display portion, and a housing portion comprising a locking system. In accordance with an embodiment, the housing portion encloses at least a portion of the frame portion, and cannot be opened unless the locking system is unlocked. The stationary exercise bike also comprises a retention portion for securely attaching at least a portion of frame portion to a wall or a floor.

The legal mail is scanned by the staff member or inmate under the supervision of a staff member and then shredded or placed into the inmate's personal property in secure storage. The scanned mail may then be made available to the intended inmate through the inmate-accessible devices or printed at the scanning station to ensure the elimination of contraband.

A method and system for eliminating contraband in postal mail at a correctional facility comprising a central processing facility and a network of inmate email kiosks and correctional institution staff review stations. The postal mail utilizes scanning stations to create electronic versions of the mail and associates various information about the sender, recipient, mail contents, and institution into a format that is easily reviewable and provides tracking data. The scanned mail may then be made available to the intended inmate and institution staff. Institution staff may also then access the associated information and tracking data.

The present disclosure is for a system and a method for tracking physical and digital communication that is sent to an inmate who is incarcerated in a correction facility. The present invention enables a significant reduction in contraband and/or prohibited communication that is sent to inmates, and, at the same time, provides transparency in the communication delivery process such that a sender is appraised as to the status of the communication as it is processed by various systems and sub-systems within a correctional facility. Moreover, the present invention enables the identification and detection of criminal or prohibited communication that would otherwise have been undetected using prior art systems.
