The disclosure relates to devices, systems, and methods to set, adjust, and/or maintain lumen levels of luminaires in a lighting system, for example. The lights may be a plurality of Light Emitting Diode (LED)-based luminaires, which are part of a smart illumination system. In certain exemplary embodiments, sensor subsystems detect degradation of luminaire lumen levels and servers/gateways are used to adjust dimming controls to reestablish proper lumen levels and predict a half-life or end of life for the luminaires.

Devices, systems, and methods for maintaining light intensity in a gateway based lighting system

The disclosure relates to devices, systems, and methods for adjusting and/or maintaining color temperature levels of luminaires. The luminaires may be Light Emitting Diode (LED)-based luminaires which are part of a smart illumination system. In certain exemplary embodiments, the disclosure includes a smart gateway device which is configured to control operation of a luminaire and is connected to a server, such as cloud server, over wired and/or wireless communication channels. The exemplary devices, systems, and methods adjust and maintain a color temperature of the luminaire according to desired or required specifications.

A system for managing emergency lighting is generally described. In particular, the present disclosure relates to self-tests and predictive life expectancy operations of emergency lighting systems. Further, the present disclosure relates to an automated system and method for performing self-tests and predicting emergency lighting fixture life expectancy. In the exemplary embodiments, emergency lighting system tests may be automatically scheduled, carried out, and evaluated.

Devices, systems, and methods to predict a half-life or end of life for luminaire drivers are described. The drivers may include electronic drivers for light fixtures such as dimming controls that utilize electrolytic capacitors in the output circuit to smooth the output current and reduce changes in current amplitude. Half-life and end of life for the drivers may be predicted by monitoring failure variable indications of the driver and the luminaire light, including the light intensity depreciation of the light, and by evaluating the data from both the driver, light, and environment in which the driver and/or luminaire is installed to predict the most imminent half-life and/or end of life.

Devices, systems, and methods for exchanging information between a plurality of lighting devices and a gateway supporting a variety of dimming control protocols is described herein. Regardless of the specific native control protocol used by each of the lighting devices, the gateway is able to control the plurality of lighting devices. The gateway is assembled from modular components that enable a plurality of dimming protocols to be used simultaneously at a low overall system cost.

A system for transporting high luminous intensity light from at least one luminaire to a destination area is disclosed. The system may include a light guide that carries light from the luminaire to a plurality of sensors located on a Printed Circuit Board (PCB). The PCB may be attachable anywhere the luminaire is located. While collecting light rays originating from the luminaire and delivering them to the light sensors, the light guide may perform a plurality of operations to modify the characteristics of the collected light rays. The plurality of operations performed by the light guide on the light rays may support the accuracy and longevity of the light sensors on the PCB. Further, the light guide allows the sensor subsystem to be proximal to or distant from the luminaire.

The present system provides a sensor clip system that can be clipped to luminaires of a plurality of shapes and sizes and method of using the sensor clip. Some of the sensors are upward looking (into the luminaire) while others are downward looking (away from the luminaire); and thus face in substantially opposite directions. The sensor clip is adjustable in one, two or three dimensions to be able to easily fit with different sized and shaped luminaires, such that the upward looking sensors may face the incoming light and downward looking sensors face away from the light. The sensor clip system may also provide attenuation of the luminous intensity of the emitted light coming out of the luminaires and extends the longevity and usability of the embedded sensor.

System and method for performing self-test and predicting emergency lighting fixtures life expectancy

According to some embodiments, a sensor board may be used with a luminaire. The sensor board may include an environment sensor disposed on a first side of the sensor board to function in a first direction and a color sensor disposed on a second side of the sensor board to function in a second direction. The environment sensor may include an adjustable lens assembly. The environment sensor and the color sensor may be oriented 180&#xb0; apart from each on the sensor board and the first direction may be oriented 180&#xb0; apart from the second direction.

Devices, systems, and methods for automatically managing emergency lighting testing are generally described herein. The automated emergency lighting testing may include scheduling emergency lighting events, verifying that emergency lighting power sources and fixtures are sufficient to maintain requisite light intensity for a requisite amount of time, and calculating life expectancy for emergency power sources and lighting fixtures to predict when components should be replaced to avoid failure. The disclosure reduces the amount of time and manual intervention required for the tests by using, among other things, a system of lighting control drivers, sensors, and processors that monitor, assess, and control the lighting system including emergency lighting components and power.

The disclosed devices, systems, and methods may be used to automatically identify, locate, and assign luminaires into groups such that lighting systems may be more efficiently configured, used, and maintained especially in large buildings, etc. For example, a Lucas-Kanade function may be used with a system of sensors which are capable of detecting light patterns from individual and groups of luminaires to form virtual maps of luminaire locations which may be correlated with actual luminaire floor plans to efficiently identify, locate, and group the luminaires.

A system for sensing luminaire properties and controlling luminaire performance independently of the location, distance or orientation of the sensors relative to the source luminaire device that is being sensed. Thus, the installer and the maintenance crew are freed from issues and activities associated with sensor installation.
