A wireless charger inductively charges devices of various shapes and/or types, such as with multiple bend radii. Smartphones, headphones, key fobs, and other wireless devices may be laid atop the wireless charger. The wireless charger has flexible and pliable features that conform to the shape of the wireless device. The flexible and pliable features maintain a conformal relationship with the wireless device laid atop the wireless charger. The flexible and pliable features increase the efficiency of inductive power transfer and can reduce charge times and/or reduce heat generated due to thermal losses.

Information handling system with an integrated wireless charger

An apparatus is provided for mounting a compression attached memory module (CAMM) to a printed circuit board (PCB). The apparatus includes the CAMM, a fastener and a z-axis compression connector. The CAMM includes a mounting through-hole. The fastener includes a friction snap with a first diameter. The compression connector includes a profiled mounting through-hole. The profiled mounting through-hole has a narrowest portion having a second diameter that is less than the first diameter. When the fastener is inserted through the mounting through-hole and the profiled mounting through-hole, and when the friction snap comes into contact with the narrowest portion, the friction snap is pushed through the narrowest portion, and, after pushing the friction snap through the narrowest portion, the CAMM, the compression connector, and the fastener are aligned and retained as a unit.

Method for pre-assembly of compression attached memory modules

A secure antenna chassis access for an information handling system reconfigurable antenna may comprise a chassis enclosing the information handling system including a top cover, and a rear chassis wall, an antenna mounting insertion slot within the rear chassis wall, a reconfigurable antenna grounding bracket with an internal mounting portion configured to mount internally to the chassis via an internal fastener, a hardwired antenna operably coupled to a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) network interface device of the information handling system via an electrically conductive wire to transceive data at or above 6 GHz frequency, the hardwired antenna operably disposed through the antenna mounting insertion slot of the rear chassis wall from the interior of the chassis and coupled to the reconfigurable antenna grounding bracket internally mounted to the chassis, and an antenna security cover enclosing the hardwired antenna and removable by internal access to the chassis.

Reconfigurable secure antenna module and assembly method

A cartridge-based computing system includes a display stand that connects to a compute module cartridge including a first securing member, a second securing member, and a release member coupled to the second securing member. The display stand defines a securing aperture that engages the first securing member when the compute module cartridge is connected to the display stand, which causes the first securing member to engage a securing element on the display stand and move it into engagement with the second securing member to connect the compute module cartridge to the display stand. The securing element may then be engaged by the release member to move it out of engagement with the second securing member, and into engagement with the first securing member to cause the securing aperture to disengage the first securing member and disconnect the compute module cartridge from the display stand.

Cartridge-based computing system

A computing device remote control system includes a remote-control device, a remote-control adapter that is communicatively coupled to the remote-control device, and a computing device including a computing device Universal Serial Bus (USB) connector that is connected to the remote-control adapter. A function controller in the computing device is coupled to the computing device USB connector and operates to receive a remote-control message from the remote-control device via the computing device USB connector and the remote-control adapter and, in response, change a control function state stored in the function controller, and generate and transmit an alert. A system controller in the computing device is coupled to the function controller and operates to receive the alert from the function controller and, in response, access the function controller to identify the control function state stored in the function controller, and perform at least one control operation based on the control function state.

Computing device remote control system

Embodiments provide capabilities by which a user provides interactive inputs for allocating use of the available power budget of an IHS (Information Handling System) when a conflict in the power budget is detected. The power demand of the IHS processor(s) is monitored. When a USB device is coupled to the IHS, a power output to the USB device is enabled within the available power budget. Upon detecting an increase in the power demand of the processor, the power budget may be exceeded. The user is then prompted to specify whether to prioritize use of the power budget for performance of the IHS or for charging the USB device. Based on inputs provided by the user, the processor may be throttled or the power output to the USB device may be reduced. The user is thus provided a capability for resolving individual power budget conflicts based on the user's current preferences.

Interactive user control of power utilization

A motherboard may utilize a retimer device to condition signals used for high-speed USB data transfers. Motherboard embodiments include a common footprint for USB retiming capabilities. A motherboard that supports high-speed USB transfers, such as transfers of 10 Gbps or greater, utilizes a retimer in the footprint. A motherboard that supports lower-speed USB transfers, such as 5 Gbps, utilizes a passive bridge component in the footprint, where the bridge may be formed from a dielectric substrate. During manufacture of an IHS (Information Handling System) a common motherboard is selected that includes a retimer footprint, where the motherboard includes traces that couple the footprint to a USB connector and traces that couple the footprint to a USB controller. Based on the USB transfer speeds to be supported by the motherboard, a USB retimer or a passive bridge is installed in the retimer footprint.

Support for common motherboard configuration for USB retiming

A method may include selectively instantiating a bridge conductor component at a first printed circuit board (PCB) pad and a second PCB pad to provide a first universal serial bus (USB) receptacle configuration at an information handling system, the first configuration having a USB type-C receptacle at a first location at the PCB. The method may further include selectively instantiating the bridge conductor component at the first PCB pad and a third PCB pad to provide a second USB receptacle configuration at an information handling system, the second configuration having a USB type-A receptacle at the first location at the PCB. Instantiation of the bridge conductor component at the first and the second PCB pads is mutually exclusive to instantiation of the first bridge conductor component at the first and the third PCB pads.

USB recepticle configuration and system therefor

An arrangement having a processor electrically to, and mounted on, a portion of a surface of a motherboard. A plurality of memory cards is plugged into memory board slot type connectors on a surface of the memory card printed circuit board with the surface of the memory card printed circuit board being perpendicular to the surface of the motherboard. A right angle backplane connector has a first end disposed perpendicular to, and electrically connected to the surface of a motherboard and a second end disposed on the surface of, and electrically connected to, the memory card printed circuit board. The plurality of memory cards is parallel to the surface of the motherboard. An ejector mechanism is provided for removing the memory printed circuit board from an electrical connector receptacle mounted to the motherboard by camming action.
