Systems and methods are provided for curating playlists of content for provisioning and presenting to users a seamless cross fade experience from one piece of content to the next within the playlist. In embodiments, information that identifies portions of content without audio or video data may be maintained. Further, metadata may be generated that identifies a cross fade points for the content in response to receiving input from a user device of a user. In an embodiment, each cross fade point may identify a time window of the content for interleaving with other content. In accordance with at least one embodiment, the metadata may be transmitted based at least in part on a selection of the metadata for the content.

Customized cross fades for continuous and seamless playback

A computing device can periodically acquire a current track time for a media content item being played. The device can periodically compare the current track time with a respective start time and a respective end time for each line (or segment) in a plurality of lines of text (or segments of text) associated with the media content item. If the device determines that the current track time is between start and end times for a given line of text, then the device can display the given line of text. A user of the device can scroll through the lines of text associated with the media content item. If the user selects a particular line of text, the device can identify a start time for the selected line of text. The device can then play the media content item at the identified start time of the selected line of text.

Navigating media playback using scrollable text

A communications system including a SN Device including a satellite transmitter and a local wireless transceiver and a GUI Device, separate from the SN Device. The GUI Device includes a user interface and local wireless transceiver capable of establishing a wireless link with the SN Device. The GUI Device transmits command information to the SN Device and the SN Device transmits at least location data to a satellite network.
