A method can comprise deploying a prosthetic valve with a delivery apparatus, where the prosthetic valve comprises a frame and a rotatable screw connected to the frame, and where the screw comprises a screw head having an annular bore with internal threads. The delivery apparatus is releasably coupled to the screw and can comprise a first shaft and a first head disposed at an end of the first shaft, the first head comprising external threads releasably engaged with the internal threads of the screw head, and a second shaft that is coaxial with and surrounds the first shaft, the second shaft comprising a second head disposed at an end of the second shaft, the second head releasably engaged with an exterior surface of the screw head. Deploying the valve includes radially expanding the prosthetic valve by rotating the screw with the delivery apparatus.

Mechanically expanding heart valve and delivery apparatus therefor

An assembly can comprise a prosthetic valve comprising a radially expandable and compressible frame and a rotatable screw connected to the frame, where the screw comprises a screw head having an annular bore with internal threads, and where the screw is rotatable to radially expand the frame. The assembly further comprises a delivery apparatus releasably coupled to the screw, the delivery apparatus comprising a first shaft and a first head disposed at an end of the first shaft, the first head comprising external threads configured to engage with the internal threads of the screw head, and a second shaft that is coaxial with and surrounds the first shaft, the second shaft comprising a second head disposed at an end of the second shaft. The second head is configured to releasably engage with an exterior surface of the screw head and rotate the screw.

An assembly can comprise a radially expandable and compressible annular frame, at least one linear actuator assembly coupled to the frame and at least one locking mechanism coupled to the frame. The linear actuator can be configured to apply a distally directed force and/or a proximally directed force to the frame to radially expand or compress the frame. The locking mechanism can comprise a first sleeve member connected to the frame at a first location, a second sleeve member having internal threads and being connected to the frame at a second location, and a first screw configured to engage the internal threads of the second sleeve member to retain the frame in a radially expanded state.

An adjustable device for supporting a load includes a belt for fastening about a user's waist. A rod includes two rigid elements. One of the elements is longitudinally slidable relative to the other element so as to adjust a length of the rod. A lower end of the rod is attachable to the belt and an upper section of the rod is attachable to a shoulder harness that is placeable on the user's shoulders for carrying the load. A control is operable by the user when carrying the load to unlock a locking mechanism that, when locked, fixes the length of the rod. When the control is operated concurrently with movement of the user's shoulders relative to the user's waist, the length of the rod is changed to adjust a distribution of a weight of the load between the user's shoulders and waist.

A flow responsive valve for a flow metering system comprising a fluid meter having a minimum measuring flow threshold. The valve is shiftable between an open position at flow rates above the minimum measuring flow threshold, and a pressure pulsating position depending on pressure differential over an inlet port and an outlet port of the valve. The pressure pulsating position alters between a closed position essentially prohibiting fluid flow therethrough at flow rates below the minimum measuring flow threshold, and an open position admitting fluid flow into the supply line at a measurable flow rate above the minimum measuring flow threshold.

A Strip irrigator comprising a body member fitted with an inlet for coupling to an irrigation water supply and an outlet nozzle of said body member, defining a longitudinal axis, a distribution member formed with a water engaging portion consisting of two ducts forming between them an essentially V-like shape with an intersection adjacent a lower end thereof, each duct ending at a deflection groove, and a support bracket pivotally supporting the distribution member to the body member. The arrangement being such that responsive to a water jet emitted from the outlet nozzle, the distribution member generates reactionary forces imparting it as a reciprocal rocking motion about a horizontal axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.
