An expandable folder is provided which includes a front panel member, a rear panel member, and an expandable gusset which connects the panel members and forms the bottom and sides of the folder. Reinforcing means are provided upon critical or highly stressed locations to enhance the durability and useful life of the folder. Various types of reinforcement are provided about and, preferably, over the top of the gusset. The end portions of the gussets along the sides and, where applicable, the bottom, preferably have a width which is at least twice the width of the gusset folds. The outer surfaces of the inner front and rear panel members are also reinforced to strengthen the folder at least in the areas where the gusset is attached, and, for best results, on the entire outer surfaces of the panels.

Reinforced expandable folders

The present invention relates to an adhesive containing a primary water soluble adhesive agent, an adhesion promoter for providing initial tack to composition, and a water soluble polymer comprising an imine compound in an amount sufficient to provide adhesion to polymeric films and preferential anchorage of such films to a substrate. The primary adhesive agent is generally present in the amount of about 2 to 60% by weight, the adhesion promoter is generally present in an amount of about 5 to 30% by weight and the imine compound is generally present in the amount of about 0.1 to 7% by weight of the adhesive, with the balance being water. The adhesive include one or more of the following optional components: a primary chelating agent in an amount of about 0.5 to 6% by weight, a thinning agent in an amount of up to about 1% by weight, or a secondary chelating agent, a wetting agent, or a humectant, each in an amount of up to about 3% by weight of the adhesive. Also, the invention relates to a method of making the adhesive, the adhesive produced by the method and articles such as package sealing tapes having a substrate such as a plastic film with one of the adhesives described above provided on at least a portion and preferably substantially all of one surface of the plastic film.

The present invention relates to the combination of a tape dispensing machine which includes an exit chute and a pressure plate assembly, and a pressure plate positioner which has at least one support member positioned between the chute and the pressure plate assembly for providing an upward force on the pressure plate assembly to reduce the frictional force on any tape which passes therebetween to prevent jamming of the tape during dispensing. In addition, the invention relates to a method for facilitating the dispensing of relatively thin tapes which comprises providing an upward force on the pressure plate assembly to reduce the frictional force on any tape which passes therebetween to prevent jamming of the tape during dispensing. This upward force is preferably provided by installing the pressure plate positioner described above between the chute and pressure plate assembly of the tape dispenser.

A reinforced shelf filing folder having front and rear panel members connected along a fold line and a tab member connected to a first side edge of the rear panel member. Reinforcement is applied to both sides of the tab member and to the outer surface of the fold line extending onto the adjacent surfaces of the front nd rear panel members. Finally, additional reinforcement means is optionally applied to the outer surfaces of the front and rear panel members, disposed along a side portion of the rear panel member opposite the first side edge and over the fold line to a corresponding portion on the front panel member. Alternatively, the additional reinforcement can be applied to the outer and inner sides of the front panel member along the first side edge. These reinforcements increase the wear resistance and life of the folder.

Reinforced shelf filing folders

A hanging folder suspension system for use with different sizes of file cabinets and different sizes of hanging folders and which is suitable for compact storage. The system includes a frame which is made of a pair of frame elements which have a column member and at least one horizontal bracket member and is integrally made of reinforced plastic. The frame elements can be locked together in a laterally adjustable manner to accommodate different size folders. A pair of multi-component rails which are adjustable to the length of the file cabinet are provided and engage rail positioning channels in the frame elements to secure the rails into the frame and form an upright rigid structure in a working position. The rails include at least two rail elements which are joined by a connecting bracket. When disassembled, the frame and rail elements fit into a compact storage box suitable for handling by standard processing facilities.

A method for manufacturing improved paper office supplies comprises determining which critical areas or portions of the office supplies are prone to wear and tear, and applying reinforcement upon or adjacent to those critical areas or portions to increase the strength and resistance of the office supplies to such wear and tear. This invention also provides some examples of reinforced paper office supplies.

Reinforced paper office supplies and method of making them

An expandable folder is provided which includes a front panel member, a rear panel member, and a gusset member which connects peripheral portions of the bottoms of the front and rear panel members and at least a portion of the sides of the panel members to form the expandable folder. The gusset member includes a sheet having a plurality of accordion-like folds, with terminal folds of the sheet being wider than the other folds, and the terminal folds are connected to the front and rear panel members to enhance the connection therebetween. The expandable folder further comprises interior reinforcing strips positioned along at least part of the connection between the gusset member and panel members peripheral portion for preventing separation of the front and rear panel members from the gusset member when the folder is used. Reinforcing strips may also be provided along the top or corners of the gusset member or on outer peripheral portions of the panel members. In addition, the outer surfaces of the panel members may be coated with a polymer to increase the resistance of the folder to water penetration and to protect the folder from disfigurement.
