The present invention is directed to a television schedule guide which includes a detector for determining whether a previously scrambled program is unscrambled. If a previously scrambled program is momentarily unscrambled or scrambled due to promotional efforts by the program provider, the system will visually distinguish the program on the guide, and a viewer may tune to or record the program from the guide. The view may also subscribe to the program provider through the guide during the promotional period.

Premium channel promotion system and method

Detection and indication of premium channel availability

In one embodiment, informational messages about the program or channel to which a television receiver is tuned and advertising messages are displayed simultaneously with the current television program. In another embodiment, an EPG is displayed in a composite with an advertising message. Before such display, the microprocessor substitutes a transparency value for the stored background color value used to display the EPG alone in the conventional fashion on a background of a solid color or colors.

A portable Dutch Oven stand comprising a low aspect ratio and few parts which are integrally pieced together into one transportable unit. Dutch oven stand

An apparatus and method for retrieving lines, ropes, wires, optical fibres and the like from otherwise inaccessable locations, without the need for separate control lines, dissolving tables and the like. The apparatus comprises a line guide assembly, line clamping assembly, a line cutting assembly and a triggering mechanism for the activation of the aforementioned assemblies. The triggering mechanism is activated by the application of force to the line to be retrieved.
