There is provided mechanisms for providing information about peer communication devices to a network node. A method is performed by a first peer communication device. The method comprises exchanging, with a second peer communication device over a device-to-device connection, any timestamped identity information and location information about other peer communication devices as previously exchanged with at least one peer communication dev ice other than the second peer communication dev ice. The method comprises adding to the timestamped identity information and location information, timestamped identity information and location information about the second peer communication device as obtained from the second peer communication dev ice. The method comprises forwarding the timestamped identity information and location information to a network node upon network access to the network node.

Source and target service nodes and methods are described for transferring a service session for a wireless device from the source node to the target node when a service application is executed in the source node for the wireless device by the service session. In particular, the amount of application data to be transferred from the source node to the target node for a wireless device that is handed over from a first base station to a second base station can be reduced by truncating the application data by an amount corresponding to the data pending in a downlink buffer at the first base station. Thereby, the target node is able to recreate the complete application buffer from the truncated application data and data from the downlink buffer, the latter data being transferred from the first base station () to the second base station (), according to a handover procedure.

Methods and service nodes for transferring a service session for a wireless device between service nodes associated to different base stations

Source and target service nodes and methods are described, for transferring a service session for a wireless device from the source node to the target node when the wireless device is handed over from a first base station associated with the source node to a second base station associated with the target node. A first data amount indication is obtained, which indicates how much downlink data is pending at the first base station. The first base station is requested to delete some or all pending downlink data from a downlink buffer, and the source node transfers to the target node application data and a data amount indication related to a first data amount indication. The target node can then recreate the downlink buffer at the second base station by sending a first part of the application data, corresponding to the second data amount indication, to the second base station.

Methods and service nodes for transferring a service session for a wireless device

There is provided a method and corresponding device for transmitting a congestion indication to a group of wireless communication devices for synchronized triggering of backoff procedures in the wireless communication devices. A purpose of the synchronized triggering of the backoff procedures may be to enable deferring, in each of the wireless communication devices, transmission of scheduling request(s) until one or more backoff procedures in the considered wireless device is completed. In this way, the proposed technology provides efficient load control related to scheduling requests and/or enables a reduction of the average response time between scheduling request and grant.

In a multi-access system, an access selection principle is achieved by selecting a signal strength threshold level (-) based on a determined load level (U) in a first access network. A new user in an area commonly covered by more than one access network attempts to allocate to the first access network if an experienced signal strength exceeds the signal strength threshold level (-). Communication utility can preferably be maximized or at least be taken into account by using suitable load level dependencies. By increasing the threshold when the load level approaches the capacity limit, a completely filled first access network is avoided. This gives an opportunity to let particularly well-suited users still have access to the first access network. At the same time, since the preferred access is decided before the actual access attempt, control signalling can be significantly reduced, even at very high traffic loads.

A method is provided in a node in a radio access network for packet data communication in a wireless communication network, the method includes intercepting, by the node, a first PDP context message between a mobile station and a core network. The message includes PDP context related information. The interception is performed to detect the PDP context related information. The method further includes establishing, by the node, based on the intercepted PDP context related information, a second PDP context between the node and the mobile station, thus enabling prioritizing packets in the radio access network. A method for use in a cellular system with a controlling node and user terminals, UEs. In the system, UEs can assume one of at least two states, a non-listening state, i.e. a state during which a UE does not listen for data from its controlling node, and a listening state, an 'on duration' state. According to the method a UE in the system is able to alternate between said two states according to a certain scheme, the scheme according to which a UE in the system alternates between said two states being dependent on whether or not data units which are transmitted between the UE and its controlling node are received entirely and correctly within an initially allocated resource for each data unit.

The invention relates to a method in a source radio base station () for enabling a handover of a connection to a user equipment () from a source cell () to a target cell (). The source radio base station then determines () a transmission time of the segment of the measurement report and compares () the transmission time with a predefined time threshold value.
