A method performed by a receiving radio node for positioning a radio device is provided. The receiving radio node receives a first signal from a transmitting radio node, and measures a time of arrival of the first signal. The first signal is also received by a radio device. The receiving radio node further receives a second signal from the radio device. The second signal is the first signal that has been scattered and frequency modulated by the radio device when the first signal was received by the radio device. The receiving radio node measures a time of arrival of the second signal. The receiving radio node then calculates a Time Difference Of Arrival (TDOA) based on the measured time of arrival of the first signal and the measured time of arrival of the second signal.

A method in a network node and a network is provided to determine line of sight, LOS, base stations for a user equipment (UE) is provided. A request is provided to at least one of the UE and a plurality of base stations to measure and report LOS detection measurements, wherein the plurality of base stations includes base stations of a serving cell of the UE. The LOS detection measurements are received from the at least one of the UE and the plurality of base stations. LOS base stations for the UE are determined based on the LOS detection measurements. An indication of the LOS base stations is transmitted to the UE.

Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications network, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes determining a reporting quality threshold for a parameter related to channel state information (CSI); performing a measurement for each of a plurality of beams from a first predetermined set of beams for evaluation; evaluating the measurement for each of the plurality of beams against the reporting quality threshold; discontinuing the performing and evaluating of measurements in response to determining that the reporting quality threshold is met for one of the beams, such that one or more beams in the first predetermined set of beams are not measured and evaluated; and reporting, to the wireless communications network, CSI for the one of the beams.

A wireless communication device () performs wireless transmissions via an antenna array of the wireless communication device (). The antenna array comprises multiple antenna elements with a first polarization, a second polarization, and a third polarization. For at least some of the wireless transmissions, the wireless communication device () performs beamforming processing by, for the first polarization, weighting antenna signals each corresponding to a respective one of the multiple antenna elements by a first beamforming vector, for the second polarization, weighting antenna signals each corresponding to a respective one of the multiple antenna elements by a second beamforming vector, and for the third polarization, weighting antenna signals each corresponding to a respective one of the multiple antenna elements by a third beamforming vector. The method includes obtaining radio channel estimates of a radio channel on which radio waves have been transmitted between the radio communications device and another radio communications device at an angle of arrival and departure. The method includes determining a Doppler shift from the radio channel estimates. The method includes estimating at least one of the angle of arrival and departure of the radio waves based on the Doppler shift. The method includes selecting a beam direction for a signal to be transmitted between the radio communications device and this another radio communications device over the radio channel according to the estimated angle of arrival or departure.

The method includes obtaining a first sequence of Time Difference of Arrivals (TDOAs) at the wireless device of reference signals, which are transmitted by and used for synchronization of a first pair of network nodes; and determining, based on the first sequence of TDOAs, a first relative distance. The method also includes obtaining a second sequence of TDOAs at the wireless device of reference signals, which are transmitted by and used for synchronization of a second pair of network nodes; and determining, based on the first sequence of TDOAs, a second relative distance. Method, apparatus and system for determining a position of a wireless device

Mechanisms for determining directional beamforming weights are disclosed. A method performed by a radio transceiver device includes obtaining, from measurements on reference signals, channel estimates per antenna port and frequency. The channel estimates are indicative of power delay values per antenna port towards another radio transceiver device. The method includes determining modified channel estimates per antenna port and frequency with the power delay values outside a threshold delay window being suppressed. The method includes determining directional beamforming weights for beam-formed transmission towards said another radio transceiver device based on the modified channel estimates per antenna port and frequency.

Systems and methods of sharing channel information between co-located radio nodes are provided. Embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a receiving device for handling signalling in a wireless communication network. The receiving device measures a strength, or a complex amplitude, of one or more signals over a signal path to a transmitting device, which measured strength or complex amplitude forms a signal pattern over a time. Furthermore, the receiving device matches the signal pattern with a stored signal pattern and, if the signal pattern matches the stored signal pattern, the receiving device determines whether an object will block the signal path between the receiving device and the transmitting device.
