The present disclosure relates to a wheelchair () with tilt capabilities. The electric wheelchair comprises a chassis (), a lift device having a base member which is fixedly arranged to the chassis, and a lifting member arranged to move rectilinearly relative to the base member along an axis defined by a longitudinal extension of the lifting member, a tilt frame, a first arm pivotally coupled to the lifting member and the tilt frame, and a second arm coupled to the base member, and which second arm is pivotally coupled to the first arm forming a pivot connection, wherein movement of the lifting member towards the extended position moves the pivot connection towards the base member and movement of the lifting member towards the retracted position moves the pivot connection away from the base member.

Wheelchair with tilt capability

The present disclosure relates to a tilt assembly () for a powered wheelchair (), comprising: an elongated base member () provided with an axial channel, a lifting member () configured to be received by the base member () and to move rectilinearly in the channel, between a retracted position and an extended position relative to the base member (), a tilt frame () pivotally connected to the lifting member (), the tilt frame () being configured for mounting a seat assembly () thereto, and an arm () pivotally connected to the base member () and to the tilt frame (), wherein the tilt frame () is configured to obtain a perpendicular orientation relative to a central axis () of the lifting member () when the lifting member () is in the retracted position and to be inclined relative to the central axis () when the lifting member () is in the extended position, to thereby provide a tilt functionality.

A seat assembly including a seat, a support plate configured to pivot with respect to the seat, a slide plate slidably mounted to the support plate, and a pivot arm positioned between the support plate and the slide plate and connected to the slide plate and the seat. When the support plate is pivotally adjusted with respect to the seat, the pivot arm causes the slide plate to slide along the support plate.

A backrest assembly for a wheelchair includes a support plate pivotally connected to a seat, wherein the support plate is configured to be pivotally adjusted between upright and reclined positions with respect to the seat; a slide plate slidably secured on a front surface of the support plate; and a backrest adjustment assembly operatively connected to the support plate and the slide plate. The backrest adjustment assembly includes a link configured to adjust the support plate. The slide plate slides over the support plate through the link.

A powered wheelchair includes a seat assembly configured to support an individual, a legrest assembly pivotally connected to the seat assembly, and an adjustment assembly including an actuator operatively connected to the central column through a piston slidably secured within a sleeve. The adjustment assembly is secured underneath the seat assembly. The powered wheelchair may also include an extension bracket that allows legrests and a central column of the legrest assembly to be separately and independently adjusted with respect to one another.

A powered wheelchair includes a seat assembly configured to support an individual, a curved legrest assembly pivotally connected to the seat assembly, and an adjustment assembly including an actuator operatively connected to the central column through a piston slidably secured within a sleeve. The adjustment assembly is secured underneath the seat assembly. The powered wheelchair may also include an extension bracket that allows legrests and a central column of the curved legrest assembly to be separately and independently adjusted with respect to one another.
