The method comprises sampling transport data received on the transport link to determine properties of the transport link. The method comprises detecting the disturbance of the transport link based on the determined properties of the transport link. The method comprises, responsive to the detecting the disturbance, determining, based on the sampled received transport data, the cause of the disturbance. The method further comprises, responsive to detecting the disturbance, refraining from transmitting an indication of the disturbance or transmitting the indication of the disturbance with an instruction for resolving the disturbance.

Disturbance detection for transport links

There is provided mechanisms for classifying microwave link data of a microwave system comprises a point-to-point wireless microwave link. A method is performed by a controller entity. The method comprises obtaining, in time windows, microwave link data in terms of signal quality measurement values and received power values for the point-to-point wireless microwave link. The method comprises classifying per time window, the microwave link data per time window to operating conditions in a set of operating conditions by, from the signal quality measurement values and received power values per time window, estimating probability values for each of the operating conditions according to a mapping, as learned through training, between pieces of microwave link data and operating conditions.

Classification of microwave link data

The present disclosure relates to a point to point radio link arrangement () comprising at least two link nodes (). A first link node () is arranged to obtain first link data (X) over a first carrier frequency, and a second link node() is arranged to obtain second link data (X) over a second carrier frequency separate from the first carrier frequency. The link arrangement () further comprises a classification unit () arranged to obtain the link data (X, X) from the link nodes () and to determine if the link data (X, X) are affected by either a frequency dependent disturbance event or by a frequency independentdisturbance event. This is accomplished by comparing the first link data (X) to the second link data (X) over a time window (T). The classification unit () is also arranged to output disturbance event decision data (Y) in dependence of whether the link data (X, X) have been determined to be affected by either a frequency dependent disturbance event or a frequency independent disturbance event.

Identifying disturbance events at point to point radio links

The present disclosure relates to a weather precipitation monitoring system () that comprises a weather monitoring unit (), a classification unit () and at least one point to point radio link (A,B,C). The classification unit () is arranged to obtain link data (X, X, XN) from the at least one point to point radio link, where the link data comprises received signal strength data associated with an operation of the at least one point to point radio link (A,B,C). The classification unit () is arranged to determine disturbance event data (Y, Y, YN) based on the link data indicating if the received signal strength data is affected by at least one point to point radio link than a precipitation event. The weather monitoring unit () is arranged to monitor precipitation in the geographical region () based on the link data (X, X, XN) obtained from the at least one point to point radio link (A,B,C) and on the disturbance event data (Y, Y, Y) obtained from the classification unit ().

Precipitation monitoring using point to point radio links

The present disclosure relates to an adaptive antenna radome heating system () for a point to point radio link, where the adaptive antenna radome heating system comprises a processing unit () and at least one point to point radio link transceiver (TRX) (A,B,C). Each TRX comprises an antenna radome () having an antenna radome heating device () configured to be activated by a control signal (R, R, RN). The processing unit () is arranged to determine an onset of accumulated precipitation on the antenna radome of the at least one TRX (A,B,C) and to activate the corresponding antenna radome heating device () by the control signal (R, R, RN) in response to determining the onset of accumulated precipitation.

Antenna radome heating for point to point radio links

A method for selecting a geometry of an antenna array in a multiple-input multiple-output, MIMO, radio communication system (), the method comprising; obtaining a first parameter set comprising a first communication distance Dand a first carrier frequency f, and a second parameter set comprising a second communication distance Dand a second carrier frequency f, determining a first radio communication performance measure based on the first parameter set in dependence of antenna array geometry, and a second radio communication performance measure based on the second parameter set in dependence of antenna array geometry, and selecting the antenna array geometry based on the first radio communication performance measure and on the second radio communication performance measure.

Antenna geometries for improved MIMO communication

A system, method, and apparatus for managing interference are presented. The interference may be between i) a fixed wireless link, FL, formed by a first FL node and a second FL node which communicate at a frequency fand ii) a radio access network, RAN, node. The method may comprise the first FL node monitoring radio link quality, Q, of fixed wireless link signals at f. The first FL node may determine whether Qis worse than a predetermined Qthreshold. If Qis worse than the predetermined Qthreshold, the first FL node may measure, during a silent period, how much one or more signals transmitted from the RAN nodeinterferes with the first FL node at the f. The first FL node may transmit, to an interference mitigation controller, interference measurement information which indicates how much the RAN node interferes with the first FL node at f.

System, method and apparatus for managing co-channel interference

The present disclosure relates to a radio receiver, a radio transmitter, and methods for evaluating receive and transmit antenna patterns of directive payload antennas. The method for evaluating receive antenna patterns of a directive payload antenna comprises the step of steering a probing signal receive pattern of a steerable receive pattern antenna according to a pre-determined sequence of probing signal receive patterns, and receiving a probing signal via the steerable receive pattern antenna, as well as determining a probing signal quality value from the received probing signal as a function of the pre-determined sequence of probing signal receive patterns.

Control of directive antennas for wireless links

The impact of a fading dip in a radio channel on the communication between a first and a second antenna may be reduced by receiving a sounding signal at the first antenna or the second antenna over the radio channel and measuring the frequency response of the radio channel using this sound signal that was received. The radio frequency signal that is used to communicate between the first antenna and the second antenna is adjusted in response to the frequency response that was measured in order to reduce an impact of the fading dip in the radio channel on the radio frequency signal during operation.
