The present invention relates to a method of installing an unbonded flexible pipe with a bore for transportation of fluid wherein the unbonded flexible pipe comprises an outer sheath, an inner sealing sheath inside the outer polymer sheath, an annulus between said outer sheath and said inner sealing sheath and at least one metallic armor layer comprising iron located in said annulus, wherein the method comprises filling at least a part of the annulus with a corrosion promoting liquid before or after installing the unbonded flexible pipe between a first installation and a second installation.

Method of installing an unbonded flexible pipe

The invention relates to a flexible armored pipe for transportation of fluids, comprising an inner sealing sheath and at least one displacement reduced armor layer comprising a plurality of elongate elements comprising at least a female type elongate element comprising at least one recess in each opposite side and a male type elongate element comprising at least one protruding tongue in each opposite side and wherein each of the female type and the male type elongate elements are substantially symmetrical in a symmetry line substantially normal to the inner sealing sheath when the pipe is in a non-bended state and where said protruding tongues of said male type elongate element windings are engaged in said recesses of adjacent female type elongate element windings.

Flexible armored pipe

An unbonded flexible pipe for transportation of fluids and comprising a tubular inner sealing sheath defining a bore. At least one armor layer surrounds the inner sealing sheath and a carcass is arranged in the bore to support the inner sealing sheath. The carcass comprises at least one profiled elongate element, which is helically wound to form directly and/or indirectly engaging elongate element windings along the length of the pipe. The carcass provides a quasi fluid permeable inner wall of the bore with discontinuities between successive turns of the wound elongate element(s). The discontinuities have an average width in the axial direction of the pipe which is about 3 mm or less when the pipe is in an unloaded and unbent condition, and the pipe can bend with a minimum bending radius of about 10 m or less in an unloaded condition.

Unbonded flexible pipe

The invention relates to a flexible pipe comprising a plurality of layers surrounding a longitudinal axis and an at least partly integrated sensor arrangement. The plurality of layers comprising an internal sheath and one or more armouring layers, at least one armouring layer comprising at least one folded metal strip helically wound around said longitudinal axis of the pipe, at least a part of said sensor arrangement being placed in a fold of said folded metal strip, the sensor arrangement preferably comprises an optical fiber which is placed in the fold of said folded metal strip. By this flexible pipe with a sensor arrangement, the sensor arrangement may be incorporated into the armouring layer in a simple and safe way. The sensor arrangement may for example be capable of sensing at least one property, selected from the group of stress-strain, temperature, pipe leakage, wear, mechanical deformations, pressure, chemical corrosion, salt concentration of liquid in contact with the pipe and pH value of liquid in contact with the pipe.

Flexible pipe

The invention relates to a flexible pipe for transportation of fluids and gasses, e.g. useful in water transportation, and in offshore transportation of crude oil e.g. from seabed to an installation or between installations. The flexible pipe of the invention comprises a new type of armouring layers which is made from a combination of one or more profiled wires and one or more metal strips. A folded strip is an endless unit with at least one fold and a width which in unfolded condition is at least 6 times its thickness, such as at least 10, such as at least 15, such as at least 25 times its thickness or even up to 100 or 500 times its thickness. A profile is a preshaped non-folded cross sectional profile. The profile may preferably have a width of less than 6 times its thickness. The term 'endless' is used to indicate that the tapes and profiles are very long compared to their other dimensions.
