An injector device for delivery of liquid from a high pressure, the device comprising a housing, a pressure chamber comprising a pressure barrel for accommodation of at least one piston therein and having a front end opening for ejection of the liquid, the pressure chamber being of sufficient strength to sustain the liquid pressure. The device further comprises a storage chamber , separate from the pressure chamber, for the liquid or the liquid precursor components, and a conduit between the pressure chamber and the storage chamber. A pressurizing mechanism in the housing is arranged to apply force, directly or indirectly, on the piston in the pressure barrel to create said liquid pressure. The pressure chamber, the piston and at least a part of the conduit is arranged as a unit, wherein said unit and the housing have corresponding fitting parts allowing releasable attachment of the unit to the housing in a position permitting fluid connection between storage chamber and pressure chamber through the conduit and permitting the pressurizing mechanism to act on the piston.

Medical arrangement

Injector devices and methods for their operation for containers having an opening with or for an injection needle. The container is optionally of syringe type with a barrel of substantially constant axial cross-section. In one embodiment, the devices include a penetration arrangement operable to move the needle from a rear position to a forward position, an injection arrangement operable at least to expel container content through the needle, and a transmission and a switch system allowing manual energy applied to the device to manually operate the penetration arrangement and then manually operate the injection arrangement.

A device for deforming and ejecting a deformable intraocular lens for insertion into a small incision in an eye, the device comprising a) a housing, b) a lens transporting duct in a front part of the housing defining a duct axis, the duct having a front end with a cross-section adapted to the lens in deformed state with small maximum dimensions transversal to the duct axis, a rear lens-receiving end with a cross-section adapted for the lens in un-deformed state, or less deformed state, than at the front end, with larger maximum dimensions lateral to the duct axis than at the front end and an intermediate convergent duct part between the front and rear ends with a varying cross-section shape, having decreasing maximum dimensions lateral to the duct axis when moving from rear to front in the duct and c) a plunger operative to displace the lens in the duct at least in the forward direction. According to various aspects of the invention part of the duct has the overall shape of a crescent, the plunger is re-shapeable between different height to width ratios, the device has fixing structures for preventing lens rotation and the plunger is driven with a preprogrammed movement pattern. The invention also includes methods corresponding to the operational steps of the devices.
