A feeder movement compensation algorithm for use within a processor controlled sewing machine. The sewing machine configured with a reciprocating needle and thread, and including a stitch plate upon which fabric to be sewn is positioned beneath the needle and thread. The machine also includes a feeder mechanism driving a feed dog thru a movement. The feed dog movement pushes the fabric along the stitch plate and the reciprocating needle and thread form stitches in the fabric. During the stitch cycle, the feed dog movement completes at least one feeder stroke. The feeder stroke includes a portion of the feed dog extending above the stitch plate and moving along the direction of feed. The feeder stroke thus pushes the fabric along the stitch plate. The compensation algorithm calculates a theoretical feeder stroke length based upon a desired stitch. The compensation algorithm then calculates a modified feeder stroke length using the theoretical feeder stroke length and at least one feeder calibration data element. The modified feeder stroke length is then performed by the feed dog during the stitch cycle to form the stitch.

Feeder movement compensation

The invention relates to a mechanically operated presser foot lift arrangement () comprising a presser bar () with a presser foot () and a presser foot lift () having a body () and a handle (). The body () comprises a guiding means (). An actuating means () connected to the presser bar is arranged to be guided along the guiding means on rotation of the body about a shaft (). The guiding means cooperates with a first locking means () for locking the actuating means in a position corresponding to a first lifting height of the presser bar. The arrangement comprises also a displaceable means () having a second locking means (), which may be brought into and out of cooperation with the guiding means. When positioned in cooperation with the guiding means, the second locking means is arranged for locking the actuating means in a position corresponding to a second lifting height of the presser bar.

A top feeder arrangement for a sewing machine provided with a processor for controlling stitches sewn on a cloth, wherein the sewing machine has a sewing machine head which comprises a needle mechanism with a needle bar () provided with a needle (), a presser bar () provided with a presser foot () and a top feeder arm () provided at its lower end with a top feeder () acting from an upper surface of a cloth for feeding the cloth in the sewing direction and wherein the sewing machine is provided with a mechanism () providing a controllable pressure of the top feeder () against the cloth.
