An electrical connector comprises a first housing member that engages a second housing member engages to form an enclosure. In the enclosure, a substrate supports a central set of conductive members in a second tubular portion. A first arm is pivotably attached to the second housing member. The first arm is resiliently biased inwardly toward the second base portion. A second arm is pivotably attached to the second housing member and spaced apart from the first arm. The second arm is resiliently biased inwardly toward the second base portion. In accordance with one aspect, the arms support automatic latching of the connector portion to a mating connector.

Electrical connector with automatic latching

An electrical connector comprises a first housing member that engages a second housing member engages to form an enclosure. In the enclosure, a substrate supports a central set of conductive members in a second tubular portion a peripheral set of conductive members within the first hollow support. A first arm is pivotably attached to the second housing member. The first arm is resiliently biased inwardly toward the second base portion. A second arm is pivotably attached to the second housing member and spaced apart from the first arm. The second arm is resiliently biased inwardly toward the second base portion. In accordance with one aspect, the arms support automatic latching of the connector portion to a mating connector.

In one embodiment, an antenna system comprises a lower mast member that has a first transverse member mounted in an interior of the lower mast member. An upper mast member has a second transverse member mounted in the interior of the upper mast member. A resilient member establishes a movable connection between the lower mast member and the upper mast member, in which the upper mast member can form a pivot angle with respect to the lower mast member. The resilient member is secured or retained axially by the first transverse member and the second transverse member.

Resilient antenna mast

A connector comprises a generally cylindrical dielectric body with a central bore in the dielectric body. The dielectric body has a first end and second end opposite the first end. Conductors extend axially through the cylindrical dielectric body and are spaced apart from each other in a generally circular or elliptical arrangement. Each conductor comprises an embedded portion in the dielectric body and mating portions extending from the first end and the second end.

Connector for interconnecting conductors of circuit boards

An electrical switch assembly comprises a generally planar substrate. A functional switch and at least one identification switch are mounted to the substrate. A switch body supports a switch actuator which is movable between multiple positions. An arrangement of one or more projecting members extends from the switch body. The switch body is mounted on or to the substrate such that the switch actuator operatively engages the functional switch, and the arrangement of projecting members operatively engages at least one of the identification switches to create a unique electronic identifier for the electrical switch assembly.

An electrical assembly including a housing having an inner surface. At least one mounting feature protrudes from the inner surface. At least one heat sink is inserted onto the at least one mounting feature. At least one electrical component is in thermal contact with a portion of the at least one heat sink.

Reconfigurable heat sink assembly

An operator control assembly including at least one operator control mounted in a panel cover or dashboard with at least one opening for receivably mounting the operator control, and at least one printed circuit board mounted beneath the panel cover. A unique configuration of projecting members on the bottom of the operator control comes in contract with and engages sensors mounted on the printed circuit board. Depending on the number and arrangement of the projecting members, a unique subset o sensors t engaged, providing a unique electronic ID for each operator control installed. This electronic ID can then be transmitted to an electronic control unit, which will alter its operation based on the types of operator controls currently installed.

Self-configuring operator control

An electronic module includes a housing with at least two housing parts; a cable including a sheath end and a plurality of conductors extending from the sheath end; and a one-piece, multi-function seal between the cable and the housing. The multi-function seal includes a cable seal overmolded on the cable at the sheath end with the plurality of conductors being exposed from the multi-function seal. The multi-function seal further includes an integral gasket extending from the cable seal and positioned between at least two housing parts.

A connector assembly comprising includes a housing with a wall and a plurality of connector units. The wall includes a plurality of openings having the same size and shape. Each of the connector units has a base plate, electrical connectors mounted in and projecting from the base plate, a hollow shroud surrounding the electrical connectors and extending away from the base plate, and a skirt surrounding the shroud. The skirt projects radially outwardly from the base plate. All of the skirts have the same outer peripheral size and shape. The shrouds may have a variety of different outer peripheral shapes and sizes corresponding to unique connector functions. Each of the skirts sealingly engage with a portion of the wall surrounding a corresponding opening. Each opening is surrounded by a groove, and each skirt overlaps and covers a corresponding one of the grooves.

Flexible electrical connector/housing assembly

A work machine includes a bulkhead separating an operator cab from an engine compartment. An electronic module includes a cantilever arranged mounting flange mounted to the bulkhead. The electronic module includes a rigid and thermally conductive frame. An electronics board is mounted to one side of the frame, and a power board is mounted to an opposite side of the frame. The electronics board carries a plurality of electronic components, and the power board carries a plurality of replaceable power elements. Each power element is a fuse, relay and/or circuit breaker. A housing encloses the electronics board and the power board. The housing includes an access cover to the power board.

Cantilever mounted electronic module with rigid center backbone

A vehicle having a power and information system including a vehicle structural member, an insulated power conductor, a communication link and a modular distribution system. The modular distribution system is attached to the vehicle structural member. The modular distribution system is coupled with the power conductor and with the communication link. The modular distribution system includes a backbone module having an electrical power connection and at least one plug pack. Each plug pack includes a first connector, a second connector and a controller pack. The first connector is connectable to the backbone module. The second connector has a plurality of terminals. The controller pack selectively electrically connects at least one of the plurality of terminals to the electrical power connection dependent upon information received by way of the communication link.

Modular power distribution system

An electrical connector assembly has first and second connector units which are connectable with each other. One of the connectors has a shell which has a variable number of tabs projecting therefrom. The number and position of the tabs can be selected so that different connectors can be distinguished from each other. A set of switches are mounted on a base adjacent the other connector. The switches are engagable tabs so that the status of the switches represents the number and position of the tabs, thereby generating electrical signals uniquely identifying the connectors.

Connector assembly

A circuit assembly includes a printed circuit board which has a plurality of copper traces formed thereon. Heat generating electronic components are surface mounted on the board in contact with parts of the traces. A heat conducting copper plate is mounted on the board adjacent to and spaced apart from the electronic components, and in contact with other parts of the traces. A silicon pad is mounted on the plate, and a heat sink member is mounted on the pad so that the pad is between the heat sink member and the traces. Heat conducting solder bridges are formed between the edges of the electronic components and the edges of the plate.

A seed monitor includes a planter master unit having one or more planter counting units connected to the planter master unit, with each planter counting unit associated with a different seed tube. Each planter counting unit includes a light source, a means for forming a light beam that traverses a sensing area of a seed tube, a detector and a processor. The circuit board connects the detector and light source with a processor. The processor adjusts the intensity of the light source and selects an output amplifier gain that is appropriate for the counting of seeds. In this manner, the planter monitoring system adjusts for long-term dust and dirt accumulation and aging of components. The processor processes the selected stage of amplified output from the detector and determines the number of seeds that have traversed the sensing area of the associated seed tube. The planter master unit receives binary data of the counted seed, and from this data, provides an output to the operator. In a preferred embodiment, plural planter counting units are connected to the planter master unit in a series connection.

Seed planter monitoring system with optical sensors

An apparatus and method for removably attaching one or more optical fibers so as to be in alignment with a respective electro-optic component on a circuit board within an enclosure. In a first embodiment, the header attaches to an aperture of an enclosure, thereby protecting the circuit board from dust and liquids. In a second embodiment, the header and protective enclosure are one integral unit. The invention enables one or more optical fibers to be detachably attached to a first side of a header or header/enclosure, and for a circuit board having one or more electro-optic components precisely positioned thereon to be attached to the other side thereof and accessed by the attached fiber by a through-hole in the header. A ferrule surrounds at least one optical fiber near an end thereof and includes a seating surface which seats on the exterior side of the header or header/enclosure. When two optical fibers having free ends of different length are carried by the connector, ferrules attached to each connector enable the optical fiber ends to be accurately positioned at different heights above respective electro-optic components on the circuit board.
