The invention discloses an improved wedging cage within the sacroiliac (SI) joint and fixation screw(s). The wedging cage is adapted to be positioned between the sacrum and the lilac bone (e.g., the sacroiliac joint), and the wedging cage is effective to receive one or more fixation or axial screws to fasten the wedging cage and secure the wedging cage to the adjacent pelvic bones to provide a combination effect of fusion and/or fixation. Accordingly, the improved fixation screw assemblies promote flexibility and adaptability due to the adjustable head being movable to a locked and unlocked position relative to the screw body when implanted onto a substrate.

Fixation screw and method

An expandable intervertebral implant for an intervertebral fusion is provided. The implant includes a first endplate, a second endplate, a translation member and an auger mounted to the translation member and extending through the second endplate. The first endplate includes a sloped anterior face and a sloped posterior face. The second endplate includes a posteriorly facing sloped surface for matingly engaging the sloped anterior face of the first endplate. The translation member includes an anteriorly facing sloped surface for matingly engaging the sloped posterior face of the first endplate.

Expandable interbody fusion device

The invention relates to a modular anchoring adaptor that engages with existing features of commercially available ALIF cages to help eliminate migration and/or anterior expulsion cause by the instability of the spine, such as lordosis. Such modular adaptor will mate or engage with existing features to enhance anchoring within the vertebral disc space, which space is limited and a low-profile should be maintained.

A universal water pipe adapter for use with a disposable container is provided. The universal water pipe adapter includes a cap housing having a cap universal engagement gasket configured to removably engage a container mouth of the disposable container. A slide port is formed in a cap cover to connect the cap cover to a cap cavity. A slide assembly having a slide bowl and a slide tube is passed through the slide port. An inhale channel is positioned on the cap cover and connects an inhale port to the cap cavity.

Universal water pipe adapter

An interbody system for implanting between vertebrae, the interbody system comprises a cage having a cage body that includes a graft chamber having a volume that receives graft material, a sagittal wall that forms a portion of the graft chamber, and a wall membrane that forms another portion of the graft chamber. The interbody system may comprise an interbody device that includes an aperture that receives a bone fastener, wherein the wall membrane interacts with the bone fastener. The wall membrane may bend as result of a force applied by the bone fastener to a portion of the wall membrane, thereby providing directional support to the bone fastener and/or forcing graft material from the graft chamber.

Modular plate and cage elements and related methods

A fastener, for example a bone screw, is sized to pass into an aperture of an implant, for example, a bone plate, the fastener having an anchor portion engageable with body tissue, and a head portion formed by an assembly of an insert and an anchor extension. The insert and anchor extension cooperate to form a reduced dimension passable into the aperture, and an expanded dimension not passable out of the aperture. The size of the assembly may be configurable, for example, by tabs, ramped surfaces, or an expanding diameter of a threadable insert.

Securing fasteners

Disclosed are devices, systems and/or methods for use in the surgical treatment of vertebrae and/or other bones, particularly implants and/or related devices comprising silicon nitride in some of all of the implant or device body, including portions, layers and/or surface coatings thereof, for use in spinal surgeries and/or other orthopedic procedures.

An expandable bi-dimensional intervertebral implant for an intervertebral fusion is provided. The implant includes a first hinge arm, a second hinge arm connected to the first hinge arm, and a translation member movable relative to the first hinge arm and the second hinge arm between an initial position and an engaged position. The second hinge arm is movable between a primary position and a secondary position relative to the first hinge arm. In the engaged position, the translation member biases the first hinge arm to move from a first position to a second position and biases the second hinge arm to move between a first position and a second position.

Modular footprint cage system

A bone fixation system includes a bone fastener and a tower including a frangible or detachably linked distal section with a thread formed on an inner surface thereof, the tower having at least one flexible section and at least one rigid section to accommodate and/or mitigate tower interference and/or collision during surgical procedures. The distal section can desirably be separated and/or detached from the tower to function as a head locking unit of the bone fixation assembly, with the detached distal section capable of accommodating set screws, fixation rods and/or other spinal hardware.

Modular rod reduction tower and related methods

An orthopedic assembly is described that comprises an orthopedic device, an anchor, and a locking mechanism. The orthopedic device can be a plate member having an aperture that is configured to receive the anchor. The anchor can include a head, neck and shank portion. The head portion can include a plurality of arms separated by grooves that are capable of splaying. The assembly is configured such that when the locking mechanism is inserted into the head portion, this causes expansion of the arms of the head. This expansion locks and secures the anchor to the orthopedic device. Various instruments are provided that can deliver the locking mechanism to the anchor, and can provide impact to lock functionality.

Orthopedic anchor assembly

A cervical spine spacer includes a spacer body configured to be disposed between adjacent cervical vertebrae in the cervical spine and to maintain a desired spacing between the adjacent cervical vertebrae. The cervical spine spacer also includes a channel passing completely through the spacer body from a first surface of the spacer body to a second surface of the spacer body and a fastener configured to pass through the channel. At least one of the first surface and the second surface is configured to contact one of the adjacent cervical vertebrae and the channel is sized to accommodate the fastener passing through the channel at a plurality of angles.

Disclosed are laminoplasty devices and systems, kits that include such laminoplasty devices or systems or components thereof; and methods of assembling and using such laminoplasty devices and systems. In particular, articulating laminoplasty devices are provided that allow lamina plates to be adjusted angularly and transitionally with respect to a cage connecting the lamina plates. Also provided are laminoplasty plates that are configured so as to be assembled with a bone graft housing, and which provide an opening configured to facilitate bone graft insertion into the housing. Further provided are expandable laminoplasty fixation systems that include a lateral mass plate, a lamina plate and a set screw that when screwed and unscrewed, allows one to contract and expand the plates with respect to one another.
