An automatic drain system may comprise a drain including a neck defining a drain orifice and a flange extending from the neck. A liquid detection sensor is located on at least one of the neck or the flange. A sink assembly may comprise a sink basin and the drain located in a sink opening formed in the sink basin.

Automatic drain system

A capacitive point source sensor for detecting presence of a liquid includes a main body having a sensor end and an outer end, the main body being configured to be coupled to and at least partially inserted through a container of the liquid. The sensor further includes two conductive contacts located on the sensor end of the main body. The sensor further includes an insulator enclosing the two conductive contacts.

Composite water tank level sensor

A fault interrupt module includes a detector circuit, a counter circuit, and a switch circuit. The detector circuit is configured to detect faults as a difference in current between an input power line and a neutral line. The counter circuit configured to increment a fault count each time a fault is detected by the detector circuit, and the switch circuit is configured to terminate power to a load upon the fault count reaching a threshold count within a threshold time period.

Fault interrupt module

A heating arrangement has a positive temperature coefficient ('PTC') heater. A resistor is electrically in series with the PTC heater sized and configured to limit current through the PTC heater and the resistor below a selected value.

PTC heater with autonomous control

A power control system includes a multi-phase power source, an ungrounded multi-phase load, a plurality of power switching circuits and a plurality of zero-crossing circuits. The multi-phase power source includes a plurality of phase power outputs. The plurality of power switching circuits are each connected to provide power from one of the plurality of phase power outputs to the ungrounded multiphase load. The plurality of zero-crossing circuits are connected to provide control signals to the plurality of power switching circuits. Each of the plurality of zero-crossing circuits are connected between one of the plurality of power phase outputs and an ungrounded reference.

A liquid level sensing system includes a vessel and an electrode. The vessel includes a vessel wall separating a vessel interior from a vessel exterior. The electrode is mounted to an exterior side of the vessel wall spanning a distance corresponding to a desired-level-determining range. The vessel wall is a dielectric gap between the electrode and the vessel interior. The electrode is configured to collect a charge corresponding to a liquid level. A method for determining a liquid level in a vessel includes collecting a charge on an electrode, sensing the collected charge on the electrode with a capacitance sensor through an electrical line, and determining a liquid level in a vessel based on the collected charge sensed by the capacitance sensor.

Liquid level sensing systems

A linear liquid level sensing system () comprises a vessel (), an electrically conductive liquid () contained within the vessel (), and a collector () spanning a vertical distance corresponding to the desired-level-determining range. An insulator () encases the collector () to define a dielectric gap between it and the fluid (), with the insulated area in contact with the fluid () correlating with the fluid level. A single electrical line () connects the collector () to both a voltage-supplying source () and a charge-sensing device ().

Liquid level sensing system

An aircraft heating system () is provided which can be supplied with DC power from an onboard source (). The system () comprises a heater () positioned to provide heat to an aircraft appliance (), a sensor () situated to sense appliance-relevant temperatures, a reporter () reporting system faults, and an introducer () introducing temperature setpoints. A thermostat () integrates circuitries which together manage power supply, control heating, convey sensed temperatures, detect heater and/or sensor faults, and/or perform other advantageous functions.

Aircraft heating system

An aircraft electrical appliance is provided with a ground-fault-interruption device () for protecting it in the event of problematic current loss due to, for example, a compromise in electrical insulation. The device () has a GFI circuit () comprising a current differential determiner (), a trigger () that is activated upon the current differential corresponding to ground-fault situation, and an interrupter () that interrupts power supply to the appliance upon the trigger () being activated. The GFI circuit () is electrically independent of electrical controller components of the appliance, thereby avoiding expensive software configuration and confirmation.

Aircraft electrical appliance

A sensing device () is provided for sensing whether an electrically-conductive fluid () has reached a predetermined level within a container (). In this device (), a first electrode () is electrically connected to a source () and a second electrode () is electrically connected to ground. When the electrode gap () is filled with the fluid (), the sensing circuitry causes the electrodes () to switch roles as the anode depending upon whether a positive voltage pulse or negative voltage pulse is being received from the source ().

Aircraft potable water system

An aircraft heated floor panel () comprising a heat-generating layer () including an electric heater () having current supply lines () and a controller () which controls the current supplied to the heater () via the supply lines () to thereby control the heat generated by the layer (). The controller () is integrated into the floor panel () whereby the panel has a stand-alone control system which need only be connected to the on-board power source of the aircraft, but can be connected to a main controller for networking or other purposes.

Aircraft heater floor panel

A fault protected aircraft heated floor panel is provided. The floor panel includes upper and lower floor panel skins and an electro-resistive heater element interposed between the upper and lower floor panel skins. The floor panel further includes a controller for controlling current delivered to the heater element, the controller including a ground fault interrupt circuit that detects excess reactive current provided to the heater element. The controller interrupts the current delivered to the heater element as a result of the ground fault interrupt circuit detecting the excess current.

A low noise solid state thermostat is provided which includes a thermostat input operatively configured to be coupled to a temperature sensor; a comparator for comparing an output of the temperature sensor to a predefined setpoint temperature; and solid-state switching circuitry operatively coupled to the comparator for selectively switching current to a thermostat output based on the comparison by the comparator, wherein the comparator comprises a microprocessor for comparing the output of the temperature sensor to the predefined setpoint temperature, the predefined setpoint temperature being programmed into a memory accessible by the microprocessor.

Low noise solid-state thermostat with microprocessor controlled fault detection and reporting, and programmable set points

A low noise solid-state thermostat is provided designed to operate on AC power over a wide range of frequencies (e.g., from 0 Hertz (Hz) to 1000 Hz). The thermostat incorporates a soft start turn ON/OFF feature which reduces electromagnetic emissions (e.g., EMI). In addition, the thermostat is designed to provide common mode noise cancellation. Moreover, the thermostat uses state of the art complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) and metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET) technology which improves reliability over conventional mechanical relays and thermostats. Custom temperature set points and custom temperature hysteresis can be selected at the time of production and/or subsequent to production.
