A dimensional data explorer for an enterprise system is disclosed. Dimensional data exploration includes providing a list of dimensions by which aggregated data in a report can be disaggregated and reaggregated. Aggregated data comprises a set of measures that have been aggregated for each object of a set of objects. Dimensional data exploration further includes providing the aggregated data disaggregated and reaggregated using a dimension from the list of dimensions.

Transaction processing is disclosed. A first transaction associated with a first system tenant is received. The first transaction is associated with a transaction effective time. It is determined whether the first transaction modifies data. In the event that the first transaction modifies data, it is determined whether a second transaction is executing that modifies data associated with the first system tenant. In the event that there is not a second transaction executing, the first transaction is executed with respect to the transaction effective time.

Searching in an object-based database system is disclosed. Searching includes identifying one or more matching objects matching one or more terms of a search request in a search index and executing one or more return path methods associated with each of the one or more matching objects. Each of the one or more return path methods traverses an object tree and returns a parent object. The parent object is added to a list of search result parent objects. Searching further includes ranking the list of search result parent objects according to a ranking function and providing the ranked list of search result parent objects.
