A gaming machine door hinge assembly configured to first primarily move a monitor outwardly from a housing of a cabinet of a gaming machine while at most slightly rotating the monitor, and then primarily rotate the monitor relative to the housing while continuing to move the monitor outwardly. This enables a relatively large curved monitor to be attached to the housing and openable in a way that provides full service access inside the cabinet while not interfering with a neighboring gaming machine. In various embodiments, the hinge assembly provides a compound opening motion of 'mostly-translate-changing-to-mostly-rotate' when opening the hinge assembly as well as the opposite motion when closing the hinge assembly that happens automatically.

A point-of-sale terminal may incorporate a security device for preventing penetration of a foreign conductor into a region in fluid communication with a security switch of the point-of-sale terminal. The device may include a barrier member configured to be disposed inside the terminal and to resist penetration by a hypodermic needle. The barrier member of the security device may be a rigid keypad cover configured to be disposed between a keypad of the terminal and an upper casing of the terminal, and may include a plurality of apertures configured to fit closely around keys of the keypad. The barrier member of the security device also may be a rigid light guide configured to be disposed between a printed circuit board of the terminal and a keypad of the terminal, and to provide backlighting to the keypad.

Provided in embodiments of the present invention is a chair sled locking mechanism for use with a gaming device. In one example embodiment, a chair sled includes a sled body having a chair attachment connector disposed at a first end of the sled body and a cavity disposed at a second end of the sled body. A latching unit is disposed in the cavity of the sled body along with a spring that is configured to hold the latching unit in a locked position. A latch cover covers the cavity of the sled body. At least one of the latch cover or sled body includes an opening that allows an operator to manipulate the latching unit to an unlocked position.

A single LED combined with a dark-colored reflective cavity, a diffusing graphic overlay, and a dark tinted window, provides a backlighted indicator with low power requirements. The design exhibits high visual contrast between on and off conditions, giving daylight visibility. The diffusing overlay and the window are nested and individually attached to a housing with adhesives, thus providing a double barrier against liquid penetration. Thus, the indicator can be used outdoors and under conditions of limited power. For example, the indicator may be part of a customer terminal mounted outdoors at retail establishments, such as gasoline stations.
