Disclosed is a microchannel heat exchanger comprising a primary core including a first header and a second header and a secondary core including a first auxiliary header and a second auxiliary header, further comprising a first header interconnect extending between the first header and the first auxiliary header and having a first interconnect fluid passage extending therethrough; and a second header interconnect extending between the second auxiliary header and the second header and having a second interconnect fluid passage extending therethrough.

A heat exchanger assembly includes a plurality of flattened heat exchanger tubes. The plurality of heat exchanger tubes include a bend that separates the plurality of heat exchanger tubes between extending in a first plane and extending in a second plane transverse to the first plane. An inlet manifold is in fluid communication with the plurality of heat exchanger tubes and includes a distribution insert at least partially extending through an inlet opening in the inlet manifold. An outlet manifold is in fluid communication with the plurality of heat exchanger tubes and includes an outlet opening spaced inward from opposing ends of the outlet manifold.

Disclosed is a tube bending system for forming a hairpin tube, the tube bending system including: a supply of lubricant; a supply of atomizing medium; a bend mandrel, the bend mandrel comprising: a mandrel body and a mandrel head, the mandrel head being positionable within a length of a tube to be bent, the mandrel head including a downstream end with an orifice configured for injecting lubricant into the tube.

Tube bending mandrel and system using the same

A method of lubricating an interior of a tube includes applying a lubricant including a mixture of an additive and a solvent into an interior of a tube. A flow of drying agent is injected into a first end of the tube to force the solvent from the interior of the tube via a second end of the tube thereby leaving a coating of additive at the interior of the tube. The drying agent is heated to remove additional solvent from the interior of the tube via evaporation.
