The present invention is concerned with the use of the natural product Ilicicolin H as an agricultural fungicide, compositions comprising Ilicicolin H, and the use of such compositions to treat, control or prevent fungal infection in agricultural products.

Use of the antifungal ilicicolin H in agriculture

The present invention relates to novel compounds of formulae (I) and (II) and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof that are useful in the treatment and/or prevention of human and animal bacterial infections and associated diseases and conditions; compositions containing such compounds; derivation of such compounds by fermentation and isolation, partial synthesis and total synthesis; methods of inhibiting bacterial growth; methods of treating, preventing or controlling bacterial infection; biologically pure cultures of bacterial strains from which such compounds may be produced; and processes for preparing compositions containing such compounds. 

Extracts from kibdelos porangium as antibacterial agents

Compounds useful in the inhibition of HIV integrase, the prevention or treatment of infection by HIV and the treatment of AIDS, either as compounds, pharmaceutically acceptable salts, pharmaceutical composition ingredients, whether or not in combination with other antivirals, immunomodulators, antibiotics or vaccines are described. Methods of treating AIDS and methods of preventing or treating infection by HIV are also described. The culture Cytospora sp. MF 6608 (ATCC PTA-1691) is also disclosed, as well as processes for making a compound of the present invention employing the culture.

HIV integrase inhibitors

There are disclosed novel compounds which are derived from the fermentation of a strain of Nodulisporium sp. The compounds are highly potent ectoparasiticidal, antiparasitic and, insecticidal gents.

Antiparasitic agents

Novel peptidyl derivatives of formula I are found to be potent inhibitors of interleukin-1.beta. converting enzyme (ICE). Compounds of formula I may be useful in the treatment of inflammatory or immune-based diseases of the lung and airways; central nervous system and surrounding membranes; the eyes and ears; joints, bones, and connective tissues; cardiovascular system including the pericardium; the gastrointestinal and urogenital systems; the skin and mucosal membranes. Compounds of formula I are also useful in treating the complications of infection (e.g., gram negative shock) and tumors in which IL 1 functions as an autocrine growth factor or as a mediator of cachexia. ##STR1##

Gamma-pyrone-3-acetic acid as an inhibitor or interleukin-1 .beta.

This invention relates to compounds of structural formula (I): ##STR1## which are squalene synthase inhibitors and thus useful as cholesterol lowering agents. The compounds also exhibit antifungal activity and are inhibitors of farnesyl-protein transferase.

Cholesteral lowering agents

This invention relates to a fungal microorganism MF5757 (ATCC 74167) isolated from bark discs of Quercus prinus L. (Chestnut Oak) and useful in a fermentation process to form a compound of formula (I): ##STR1## which is a squalene synthetase inhibitor and thus useful as a cholesterol lowering agent.
